DIY Yoga Room Makeover

What always wondered me ever since you moved in with Larissa is if she has any "trouble" with you dominating the whole house? I mean the yoga space and decoration is basically all yours, isn't it? Is she cool with it? Does she even care? Or do you just have similar tastes? I mean I always thought that she's the understanding type of person, that she just knows that your home space is also part of your job and so she just lets you run wild with your ideas? I'd also love a roommate Q&A where you answer some of those questions and maybe mention some pet peeves you have for each other (like leaving stuff around and so on) Who wakes up first, do you have a routine when your both are at home? Or in general, how it is living with each other. I hope you can do that :)

I thought the same thing about the yoga space but this is where her office used to be. She just moved her desk to her bedroom. I do agree we don't see Larissa much anymore but I think she works outside of the house.

It is a two bedroom, I think Kalyn would probably just pay more based on the space she’s utilizing. The yoga/reading area isn’t her second bedroom, it’s just an open space upstairs (the window is facing the stairs basically) so I’m assuming her and Larissa discussed her using that area for filming and figured it all out.

Kalyn has always used this area as her office. I think Larissa has a better bathroom (includes bathtub) that Kalyn doesn’t have, so they probably just worked it out that this is as a compromise.

I love your room makeovers - you’re so good at interior design that I bet you could do it for a living! One question though: with all the room makeovers you do, how do you avoid having hundreds of holes in your walls every time you put up or change about your wall hangings, wall art, string lights and all the rest? Do you use picture nails for everything or have you come across something better for putting things up on your walls that doesn’t leave holes or marks? I’m sure others would love to know too. I struggle with walls so hard I can’t always hammer nails through and then the unwanted holes or marks they leave behind, which is why I don’t dare change much of my original wall decor even though I’m desperate to! If you have a good tip to share about that, I’d be so grateful to know what it is! 🙏🏼 😊 Secondly, thank you so much for listening to your audience by keeping the bf interruptions and appearances to a minimum in this vid. It’s not that we don’t like him - in fact we love him for making you so happy! ♥️ But he’s a larger-than-life and rather big and loud personality - I’m sure great fun too - but doesn’t quite fit in with the calm, relaxing and very zen vibes of most of your videos, and we ultimately all tune in to watch you, not you + someone else (unless that other person is the subject of the video, obviously!). So a few glimpses of him are nice and it’s really good to know that the two of you are making this long-distance relationship work by finding ways to be together! We certainly thank him for any footage he films for your channel, but this much reduced level of interaction is so much better. 😊 I also wanted to mention how fun it was to see the brief clips from some of your very old videos. You look so different now, especially the shape of your face! I happen to think you were absolutely gorgeous back then - but of course you’re still gorgeous now too! I took a trip down memory lane myself and watched perhaps my very favourite of ALL your videos - your first road trip with Bentley when you stayed on a boat in South Carolina and travelled all the way down to Florida - just over a year ago now, so not that old! It’s not just the footage which is stunning, but the very fact that you took this trip with Bentley and FOR Bentley, that you exposed him to such lovely and different places from woodland to gardens to the sea. It’s the fact that your whole trip revolved around him and him alone and the fact that just the two of you got to spend so much time together was not only inspiring but incredibly moving.♥️ I’m going to rewatch the Arizona one next! I LOVE that you prioritised your dog in that way, that you cared so much about his happiness that you did such a wonderful thing and that you strengthened the bond between the two of you by travelling just with him and no one else. So I was wondering - are you thinking of taking another trip just the two of you again this summer? It would be such a wonderful treat for him and for us if you did! No one can get enough of watching Bentley! Taking him on trips where you’re travelling with a friend of bf just isn’t the same for a dog because he then automatically finds himself in second place (because he can’t speak Human) and also doesn’t get that very special alone time just with you. These days, so many dogs, despite being well fed and healthy, taken on multiple walks a day and played with regularly, still spend a lot of time sleeping just out of boredom. Of course dogs need to sleep much more than we do but a recent study found that most dogs sleep twice as long as their bodies actually need, just in order to pass the time and cope with the boredom and repetitive routine of their lives - which is just so sad! Most good dog owners are excellent at meeting their pet’s daily care needs but never address their pet’s mental health - and over-sleeping, just like with humans, are often signs of canine depression. Unlike most cats, dogs don’t get to run about outside and meet other animals and visit other people’s houses. The nest way to guard against canine depression according to experts, is stimulating then while bonding with them one-on-one, which means actually taking some time out and introducing a dog to new places, environments and experiences while making them the centre of attention - and not letting them feel second best by travelling with friends or partners who distract and weaken the bonding experience (of course you can do that too but it’s important that you don’t only do that). So although I know you’re now in a serious relationship and really enjoying that, I really REALLY hope you still make room for some quality Bentley time and take him on some more Puppy Adventures! It really is the kindest and most generous thing you can do for a dog, rather than just have him tag along on your own holiday with someone else, leaving him in the hotel while going out to do your own thing and dining in the evenings at restaurants that don’t allow dogs. After all, compared to the length of our own lives, we have our fur babies for such a short while and when they’re gone, all too frequently we find oneself not just hugely missing then, but also bitterly regretting we didn’t spend more time doing exciting things for them and with them when they were still alive, young and healthy enough to enjoy it ... A KZbin friend has a channel called ‘Pam The Van’ and she lives in a van because she wanted to travel the world with her dog and it was the most practical way of doing it. Recently the dog, Odie, passed away as he was getting on - ten or eleven, I think - and it was devastating for her and very sad too for her viewers too. But she was really someone who could say that she’d given her dog the best life imaginable, travelling just the two of them to some of the most stunning places in the world. Every day the two of them hiked in nature and took boat rides in her pack-raft on streams, rivers and the sea, with Odie constantly and without exception always by her side. Most of us, of course, can’t go to such extremes for a number of reasons, but what you did for Bentley last year was about the next best thing. So I really do hope that, now you’re in a loving relationship, you won’t stop your solo travels with Bentley, taking him on exciting adventures where he, and only he, is the centre of your attention. It has inspired me to do the same with my precious boy too! Our dogs give us so many smiles and laughs, so much companionship, happiness and unconditional love that surely they deserve in return not just walks and basic care, but as many adventures, new experiences and periods of undivided attention from us as we can possibly manage to fit into their all too short lives. I hope you agree! ♥️ 🐶 🐾 ♥️
