I'm replacing drywall on walls that sit on a slab. Bottoms were all moldy and soft. Previous installers ran it tight to the ground and just as you said, it drew moisture up from the concrete. Thanks for the tips and help identifying the problem.

On my 120 year old house none of the studs were on center so we made marks on the floor and ceiling at each end of the stud so we would know where to drive the screws in. Thank you for these tips. My dad was helping me renovate my house, but age ended his ability to help. On my own without dads help I procrastinated finishing two odd rooms, now I feel able to tackle them.

Great step by step video. I’ve been a subscriber for some time now, and you’ve helped a lot. I’m actually redoing my man cave in my basement right now, and this video was just what I needed. I’m already good at drywall where you can’t see my seems. But it’s the tool and tips of, how you showed how the drywall was uneven. Two points at 45 and the left at 44”. The you said to cut it at 44” and to use that tool to lift it. I didn’t know there was such a tool, so thank you for that. Please keep up these great videos. Also. Please keep doing them step by step, while always fully explaining everything in detail like you do. It’s all about the little things like those that, stand out bigger than others doing videos on KZbin. Awesome job as always. Merry Christmas to you&yours.

Wish I had found them before I started finishing my garage...Question for you if you don't mind...I'm done all the insulation and vapour barrier - onto the drywall. What happens when the end of my 8' drywall sheet doesn't match up with a stud? Should I cut it to match up with the closest stud? Thanks so much!!

First of all great content on the channel. Learning more from these 8 or so minute videos than I did as a taper apprentice for 3 years. I have a question. Is there a reason for no insulation between each stud? I ask because I’ve normally only been on jobs with metal studs and anytime the rock was being put up they would layer the insulation between each stud.

I’m doing drylining in uk for more than a decade and I don’t want to be kind of a critic but here, you will never have a board fixed alongside on a wall. Only if you fix additional horizontal support for the board sheet. Always vertically. And this is a must. You have to have all the edges of the board on a continuous solid support (timber or metal). If not, there will be cracks. If the timber/metal is done vertically, then the board has to be vertically. No matter what. That’s the Uk’s Dry liner rule number 1 .

What's the best way to install ceiling fan bracket in existing room. Older home...someone swapped original light fixture for ceiling fan. Noticed that there are thin cracks around ceiling fan from weight and movement of fan. Trying to avoid going up into attic crawl space to attach ceiling fan bracket. (Dont want to deal with loose cellulose insulation or its inhabitants-- creepy crawlies-- unless I have to.)
