Believe it or not, this is actually a compliment to the channel and the prop maker. Had Odin done a poor job, every one would have been hatin' on him. However, by asking for other props to be made, they see him as good enuff to keep going. It's weird, but this how it goes on this channel.

I've gotta start giving you more faith, Odin. Every time you start a project I end up wondering if it's going to turn out, then by the time you finish, it all comes together. Like the top - it looked like crappy foam, but after you spackled it, it became a solid piece. Good stuff!

There's another prop show that made one, but he built it out of chunks of wood and turned it on a lathe. Must have weighed a lot. Plus, there was no pretext of "DIY" on that one!

a small tip is if you get a flat object metal with a plastic or rubber handle and heat the tip you can get a cleaner cut

Use a hot wire instead of a coping saw on the styrofoam. It gives you a cleaner cut. Grant Thompson has a great tutorial on how to make a hot wire miter table.

Cool build! The instant I started the video I was thinking "Styrofoam ball" and I was right! Although I expected it to be too light but the extra layers seemed to add a nice bit of weight...
