It could be important to note that, like the cement glue, spray can primer CAN melt your foam. So if you think about skipping the undercoating with white glue, check out if your spray can primer melts your foam on a spare part. Or else you could end up destroying a good amount of work.

Really nice! Although as a tip, you can use caulk to hide the seams between the two foam pieces to make it completely seamless. Also you could have used fishing line instead of the acrylic rod to make the "hovering egg" effect a little bit more convincing. Overall though, it's great.

Does the scale look off to anyone else? The egg in the prop is a fraction of the size shown at 0:48.
@FayinKay8 жыл бұрын
He used a foam egg that you can find in craft stores, some are big some are small. If you want, you can make/buy a bigger sized egg.
@Luanhziiin8 жыл бұрын
He actually made the egg incubator and the egg as shown at 0:54....
@KennieFitz8 жыл бұрын
+Luanhziiin Actually the egg from the show (which is what I'm talking about) was onscreen at 0:48. And if the egg from the show is that large then the egg in Pokemon go should be the same size, seeing as it's from the same universe. Besides, the egg at 0:54 has no reference for scale, so it's useless as far as scale goes. I'm concerned about accuracy for a cosplay I'm making, but Odin can make a tiny egg if that's what's easiest for the show. My original goal for this comment was to verify the scale was different with a community of my peers, but apparently that's not possible without everyone assuming I'm being overtly critical. So thanks for pointing out my "mistake," but I had the time where I wanted it to be.
@KennieFitz8 жыл бұрын
***** Thanks, and as far as I know from, the game and the show, all Pokemon Eggs with green dots (like the one in Pokemon Go) are the same size. It's always bothered me that a one-size-fits-all egg can hatch fully grown Pokemon of wildly differing sizes, but I'm an irrepressible perfectionist. I really wasn't trying to criticize your work, it's a great tutorial no matter the size, and that's something I'll change for my own peace-of-mind. After all, I carried around a hamster ball full of fabric and electronics for an entire day walking a con, so a mostly hollow incubator that's about the size of a small dog shouldn't be too much hassle. I hope.

@lukia81318 жыл бұрын
+darksskull no, it has sightings, which, just like when the 3 steps were removed, just tells you what pokemon are around.
@darksskull8 жыл бұрын
Lukia And its a tracker too. Wanna track something on the list? K, pick any direction you like, and walk in a straight line till that pokemon disappears. Did you do it? Great! now stop. Remember that spot. Turn around and walk back in the opposite direction in a straight line till it disappears again. Got your spot? Now we're talkin. Now all you have to do is walk to the middle of this line, and walk in a straight line in any direction perpendicular to it, the pokemon will either disappear again, meaning you went the wrong way, OR YOU"LL LITERALLY WALK RIGHT ON TOP OF IT. Oh, yeah no problem, don't worry about it.
@lukia81318 жыл бұрын
+darksskull it has you legit walking around until you find it. the 3 steps were easier because the less steps there were, the closer the mon was. when that was removed, aimless walking around. not with the "sightings" its just more aimless walking around
@thanellen87578 жыл бұрын
Gen 1 has no eggs, however eggs were introduced in gen 2 of silver and gold. In addition, you can also walk to hatch an egg but people rather ride a bike due to being a faster method of hatching an egg... Good work on the egg hatching device ^_^

Hey man :) 1st: Great video. I love the end result and your process is easy to follow with great looking result! 2nd (and importantly): Any time you do a prop shop, and youre using blades and otger tools of the sort, can you set that grear example for not just my kid, but all kids, and make sure you stress and use safety equipment. Even something as simple as gloves. My daughter watches your show, and she asked me about your videos safety and I had to re-inforce thats as a kid she has to use protective equipement, regardless if you (or anyone with diy vids) does or doesn't. Its a common sense thing yes, and trust me, I am not saying its your job to teach my kid. Absolutely not, but it is important to set good examples. Thanks again for the awesome prop build!
