I have had my K40 for almost a year now, and I've never been happy with the alignment. I spent many hours over the last couple of days, basically coming to the same conclusions you did 4 years ago. My bed was out of alignment vertically over 3/8" on the front side (closest to the user). I had to modify the door to prevent the gantry from striking it after shimming it so far. But now it cuts perfectly and much more consistent.

Yup it took a lot fiddling with it to get right. I am getting back in to the laser a bit and thinking about building or better put rebuilding the internals with maker rail to improve this...

@@DIY3DTECHcom all 4 corners the laser works but it doesnt cut my sweet spot is is in the middle 6x6 area but with I want to cut large material is doent cut
