Great education for kids! They can be a real help. LOVE that hot tub! And what a gorgeous location, right on the river. 👍🇨🇦🐾🐾😎🌲🔥

Yes the kids are a huge help, I think it’s important for kids to learn how to do these things and have a good work ethic. Thanks for watching

I’m glad you like the videos, when I uploaded the video it is unlisted and shouldn’t show up until I make it public but I’ve noticed if I add it to one of the playlists you can see it for some reason

Interesting dove-tail design. never seen that before. The water deflection ramp is also intriguing! First time visitor. Will stick around for a while.

Your off-grid homestead is coming along nicely. Do the river flood where you are, I hope not? Whatever are you in Alaska? My husband and I was coming to Alaska, but the Corona Virus stopped that. We live in Alabama and it is congested with too many people, cars and buildings. I look forward to seeing your journey of living off-grid. Keep up the good work. Take care and be safe.

Yes the river will flood in the spring as the ice goes out it will jam up and hold back the water flooding upstream of the ice jam. It hasn’t flooded at my place yet. Last year several cabins just up river from me had water flowing through their yards. This is why all of my buildings are up off the ground

@@diyalaskanlifestyle do you have road access in case you have to leave or is it boat access? When the ice breakup do it always causes floods? I know the fishing is awesome. I watch videos of other families in Alaska fishing and those are some huge fish. I love to fish. Alaska is so green and the scenery is beautiful. I hope to visit real soon. God bless you all.

@@mimicolvin3200 no road access, no it doesn’t always flood

On your barrel stove you should add 2 pipes that come up off the floor about 1-2" from behind and over the top facing the front. It will help heat up the place faster and you will have a warmer floor

Did you build the sawmill or buy it? love the design. I want to build a cabin in Trapper Creek

@@diyalaskanlifestyle I'll watch it! It's awesome what you have going on. I live in Soldotna.. hoping to have a offgrid cabin sometime

Looks good but can hardly hear you ☺️ you should make a wood shed. I'd set up a net in the river while your doing all this work or some trot lines.

Ok that sucks I’ll have to look into this, audio was the hardest part for me to figure out when I first started making videos. We put burbot sets out on occasion
