Again so interesting the differences. Here in Germany buring gardenwaste is not allowed, and open fires are only allowed in fire pits (metal or stone). And if you want a bigger fire like you had, you would have to notify the fire station. Garden waste is typically composted here, either on your own property, or you can have the city pick it up (every county/city has such a service). Then again most germans typically don't have these huge yards, they are way smaller and normally not that overgrown or like a forest. Great job you guys, that seems like so much work, im sure it feels great having a clean yard

The yard is looking really good. Update from Saturday's shooting on i-75.... several law enforcement agencies have been heavily saturating several areas and are working closely together in their search for the suspect. They've been receiving numerous calls, but so far, none of the tips have worked out, and we're all hoping they'll find him soon. At this time, all 5 victims are in stable condition, and thankfully, they're expected to make a full recovery. All of the surrounding school systems have canceled classes and activities for tomorrow, and some businesses, will also be closed. I live only about 20 miles away from where the shooting took place, and can literally see i-75 from my kitchen window. We've been awake for almost 36 hours and we're hoping we'll be able to get some sleep tonight, but we have to wait until my son falls asleep first. I hope and pray other Kentucky residents in the tri-county area are keeping themselves safe and sound. Much Love and Hugs to you both and the kiddos!! ❤❤❤❤

Snakes are my biggest fear. In Florida it's critical to keep yards as clean as possible. Rattlesnakes are common and love that exact environment.
@ethelryan257Ай бұрын
Where I live couldn't be any more different to Florida in so many ways - over 6,000 Ft., very dry (20%rH is muggy), rarely over 85 on the warmest day of summer (which is sometimes the sole day of summer). UV radiation to tan you in five minutes. And rattlesnakes everywhere. We clear them out constantly. Finally succeeded in getting a brood of bull snakes through the winters (-40F happens here, too) and that has done more to get them out of the area around our house than anything else. We used to have burn days. Gone - the idiots didn't pay attention and our county finally "enough"! Doug and Eevee are doing a great job.

Burn day, my favorite! 🐉🔥🔥 Good to see another section of the yard become get-toable! It's funny when someone says "but you don't need to know that" after saying the thing. 🤣 Long as you aren't burning plastic or chemicals, and keep it natural materials, it's all good... although NEVER EVER burn poison ivy or similar; it gets airborne and you breathe it and that can be for-real go-to-the-hospital bad. Sure y'all know this, but for anybody else who may read this...

Florida does have yard waste recycling. They pick up every week. For larger pick ups like you would have, you just have to call them to schedule the pick up. You would need to move it to the side of the road and they will come pick it up with a large claw to remove it

That's a beautiful piece of property. We can burn where I'm from but you have to call the fire tower and let them know. We live at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains so it wouldn't be good to have fires spreading. In town where my daughter lived you could put yard waste out the city picked it up. Also you could set furniture out for pickup they had a big claw that grabbed and put it in a large bin. As well a garbage pickup. In the country we have waste stations through out the counties and you have different bin's to saparate and then everything is taken out to the landfills. Love you the family!❤

Me too. We are not allowed to light fires here in Australia because it’s too dry and we get serious bushfires. When I was a kid we used to have a community bonfire night and have fireworks which was a lot of fun. 😊😊
@pinballrick6031Ай бұрын
Where I live we are allowed to burn our trash. It’s actually supposed to be in like a 55 gallon drum with some type of grate on top, but no one does that. I’ve lived on this property for 13 years and I just dig a big deep pit that lasts me for several years. Anything that I want to burn just gets tossed into the pit and then one day, usually a cool windless day or when expecting rain, I’ll go out and light it up. Eventually, when pit fills up, I cover it and dig a new one. If metal ends up in there I pull it out after it cools down and that goes into the dumpster. Weeds and trimmings from trees and shrubs go into the pit as well. What I don’t burn is scrap lumber from when I build something and larger cuttings from trees. I have a small fire pit by a little waterfall in my backyard and I just save this stuff for when I want to enjoy a fire there. I’ve installed outdoor speakers so I can have music out there. I just enjoy sitting by the waterfall in the evening, burning a fire, listening to music and maybe having a beer or two. (I know you all don’t drink.) I find it peaceful and relaxing. I keep a second portable fire pit on the deck out by the pond my son and I built. Stocked with Bass, Catfish and Bluegill I also enjoy sitting out there with a fire in the pit and a fishing pole in my hand. I also hang on to wood for emergencies. A couple of winters ago we had a hard freeze and no power for four days and three nights. I have a generator for lights and cooking, but it can’t handle the electric furnace. My little wood burning stove kept me warm during that freeze. (Of course, you don’t have to worry much about freezing in Florida.) Honestly, it almost pains me to see you burning all that wood that I would save and use in my fire pit, but I agree it's a lot of work just to make it useable for someone else and I realize that some people enjoy socializing around a fire and some don’t. To each his own. I can’t fault anyone because they don’t enjoy the same things I do. I just wonder, “Why not?”😉
@BobbieJeanMАй бұрын
That was a great accomplishment for one day! Anyone who’s done this knows how hard that job is! Moving most of the branches by hand, cutting with a small battery powered chainsaw and moving the biggest branches and medium tree trunks with a small tractor and forks is extremely labor intensive. Add Florida temperatures and humidity…😵💫🥵. Something this old lady has found to be helpful with yard work is a wagon to pull, much easier than lifting a loaded wheelbarrow to move things around. I pile things across the sides so it’s easy to slide them off the top to land where you want them. 😉👍💕
@lindaroyal8161Ай бұрын
I'm in Pasco County Florida, in the city limits. We're allowed to put yard waste in the City provided bins, as long as the lid closes. Other debris can go in our own bins but have to call for special pick up and only allowed one call per month. Branches have to be bundled, tied, and no longer than 4'. We can have pits for private fires but burn piles are not allowed; a few months a year there is always a no burn ban because of lack of rain. I'm so impressed with your motivation to get things done!
@nancydenmark1614Ай бұрын
Same in Polk Co. you can also haul it yourself to the landfill if you have a large amount. That’s what the commercial yard mowers and tree cutters do.
@lindaroyal8161Ай бұрын
@@nancydenmark1614 - same in Pasco, I just don't don't, I have paid yard guys/handy men a few times to haul stuff away. A couple times a year, my little city does a big free haul and collects stuff at the city park for folks to dispose of large items and sometimes they allow you to set stuff out in the alley for a major area sweep to help folks out. I think it's a good thing. I'm in Zephyrhills.

It's interesting to see how different countries approach garden waste. In the UK there is a section in our local dump that takes all green waste and clippings. It's chipped and then sold back to the public and also used in local parks and woods for paths and flower beds. Dry wood including household furniture etc is also re-cycled. Home food waste has to be bagged and goes in a separate waste bin and is collected and then composted down. That also goes back into the community. We also have to separate paper and cardboard, tin, and plastic bottles in separate bins. It was a bit of a nuisance having to do it at first but you get used to it, and it makes the air cleaner and reduces landfill which is so much better for the environment.

During the Carboniferous period of earth the air was so high in Oxygen that wild fires literally exploded during lightning storms sometimes and the planet had some fires that were the equivalent size of multiple modern US states.
