This is true. I purchased a property in this type of neighborhood once ( l didnt last long there… but that’s a whole other story) Anyway, I heard a story of local utility workers having cops actually standby & watch while they did work in the area. It is pretty pitiful that some ignorant people that like causing trouble would even make that a necessity but it shouldn’t be used a reason to stop workers from coming in to make an area safe and habitable for the other folks forced to live in those types of areas

@@robineast6446 "No he didn’t. He just fixed the sidewalk and by the street…" And the main problem was the children not being able to use the sidewalk to go catch the school bus and needing to walk along the side of the street, and just a general nuisance for everyone else who lived there and needed to use the sidewalk. So, yes, he did fix the problem. Now the children can safely use the sidewalk and it will be a lot easier for everybody else as well.

@@katarinas3361 "@oldtimefarmboy617 Al cannot come and take care of it all the time. He solved the problem for some time. Soon it will grow back, and they will have the same problem." Sometimes problems get out of hand before people realize that it is a problem and it becomes more than they can handle. Now that they know the problem the overgrowth can cause, since they obviously take care of their own lawns, they can do a little extra and one or more of them can make certain that area along the sidewalk does not get that way again. The solution to most problems requires knowing what the problem is in the first place. Now they know and they can easily prevent the problem from occurring again.

What's sad, is that the city won't come out to that area, but the neighborhood looks nice and decent and the only people you met were super nice and friendly. It's the worst case scenario of where a few bad apples spoil the barrel.

Very often, it's just an excuse. I was once told some services weren't provided in my neighborhood anymore because it was a so-called bad neighborhood. I've lived here for more than 30 years and felt safe even at night all this time. But there aren't any rich or otherwise influential people living here and there's a lot of social housing.
