Freaking Genius! That was cool to watch! That has to be very satisfying, having the ability to make your tool rather than having to leave the shop to go buy one that probably wouldn’t even be as functional / durable. It’s a pleasure to watch people work who know their trade like that. Thanks for sharing that knowledge and your idea , kind sir!

Not sure why anyone would dislike. The build is simple, clever, inexpensive, scalable to larger sizes, compact and quick to fabricate. Okay fine, you can't use it to fly to Mars. I concede.

Pretty slick idea and I like its final use. Just a thought, if you cut off two sides of the square plate it is mounted to you will be able to store it in most shop drawers and it could still be clamped in the vice. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Where do I begin to comment? Absolutely genius application of shop skills; the welding and oh, the grinder work to make that forming post! Wow! Last but not least, that background music track was great listening to, not too loud, not distracting.

First rule of working with rotating power tools (drills, lathes, etc). NEVER wear gloves!
@bwanadon13594 жыл бұрын
I was going to say that. Can be very bad. Otherwise cool video.
@codymoncrief84784 жыл бұрын
Ed Hartgrove That rule technically only applies to machinery that is large or powerful enough to pull a limb or body into the moving parts without the machine turning itself off. With handheld tools -especially abrasive grinders- gloves are actually a good idea. If a hand drill or grinder grabs a bit of your glove, you will likely receive similar or lessened injury as you would have with no glove. A hand drill or grinder does not have the power required to ingest a person. A milling machine or lathe, on the other hand, could easily kill an unfortunate person.

Yes this is true it's a good way to wrap that thing right up around your arm have a suck into your shirt and then where's it going to go from there you don't know that you how's it takes is two or three threads to get wrapped around that rotating shaft at 11,000 or 25000 RPMs give you a bad day in the hospital
