My reaction to the clash of egos that is jamar rose and dizzyeight's beef. I think this whole thing has been blown out of proportion, but for those that have been asking, here is my reaction to nerd control and tantrum (dizzy's response).

That's always been what Scru did. He burnt damn near every bridge on the KZbin rap scene and jumped into anime rap with the same destructive ass energy that's left that scene burnt out because everyone kept beefing for views and for real. But hey. "THIS IS HIP HOP!" he shouts, trying not to look at the burned out scene he skipped out on.

One of the few people who think disses can be a healthy outlet while keeping the game competitive. Sometimes conflict can't be solved behind the scenes, and ego needs to butt heads so someone can deflate. Besides, drama is fun! If Dizzzy is acting ignorant this is the platform to demand more respect. I want it in small verses, but after Dizzy's response I don't think Jamar Rose needs to write anything more. Nerdcore is a bit tighter than hip hop and it works best that way.

I really like watching people like Scru for their reactions, and I always love a good diss track. However, I think the amount of encouragement of diss tracks and talking about how to be a "real" rapper or how you dip into "real" hip hop within this community has become overbearing. What now? Half the community stops working with Jamar/ Dizzy and they start rallying communities against one another? It'll tear nerdcore apart. Solid tracks, but I'm not happy about it; a diss track is always fun until it happens in our community.
@fork6057
@fork6057 Жыл бұрын
Don't think Jamar and Dizzy "beefing" is gonna tear nerdcore apart. Sl!ck dissed other rappers and the community got through it just fine. Obviously it creates tension but...all of this could've been avoided.
@slaughterbottle69
@slaughterbottle69 Жыл бұрын
@@fork6057 I agree and disagree, but I think mostly you're right. No, Jamar and Dizzy beefing isn't really spelling the end of Nerdcore, and I 100% agree that it could have been resolved way differently and much more effectively. However, I think whether or not this is bad for Nerdcore depends on the mentality of the community. Being the optimist I am, I believe the rappers in this community are good people to put faith in, so I think they would have no problem uplifting one another and not carrying an envious type of energy. At the same time, to put the example to a smaller scale, if you got a group of friends and one of them gets into an argument with another one in the group, everyone is, subconsciously, forced to pick sides. Their beef won't tear apart the community, but the aftermath it leaves for their supporters just might.
@bopqw1055
@bopqw1055 Жыл бұрын
if the nerdcore community is weak enough one person having beef would tear it apart, itll crumble eventually anyways. a freind group that splits over one argument isnt a strong friend group to begin with thats the group of people who just got together to hang out.
@slaughterbottle69
@slaughterbottle69 Жыл бұрын
@@bopqw1055 I just wanna start by saying I don't got any Ill will toward anyone for this opinion, I kinda agree. At the same time though, I think the "it is what it is" attitude is not a good one to carry. When you notice that your friend in the friend group has some type of beef with another friend, the correct play (in my opinion, of course) is to help the two squash it, because letting it bubble over and ruin the group is mad lazy. If you're having arguments with your significant other and you ask your friend his thoughts on the matter and the dude goes "okay, go say (insert heavy hitting argument) and see what she thinks THEN. Tell me how it goes," then that friend is tweakin'. I understand that drama is something we all think about seeing once or twice, it can be fun. But encouraging it is not the move. When I watched Scru's reaction to Mir's response (I still love Scru, don't get it wrong), he made it clear that he still respects both Jamar and Dizzy, for calling people out and for responding, respectively. I understand the mindset of hip-hop heads, and I like watching Eminem diss someone as much as the next guy. The difference is, Nerdcore is a small town compared to the whole of hip-hop, and small towns stick together. When Eminem dissed MGK no one batted an eye, but when he dissed Snoop everyone got uneasy; the reason for that is that everyone that listens to hip-hop has, as Shwab put it, stakes in both of them. People that listen to Nerdcore, as well as people that perform within the nerdcore community, have stakes in Dizzy and Jamar both, if not from direct listening then from secondhand contact. Sorry for the book, but I just don't want Nerdcore to go down the way the YT rap community did, and this is what started it.
@bopqw1055
@bopqw1055 Жыл бұрын
@@slaughterbottle69 understood but this is the equivalent of the bubble over already happening. its not like jamar and dizzy had a private argument and nothing happened. jamar purposefully didn't talk to him in private about how he felt and put him on blast for his entire community to see. and fan view while important only goes so far with a person if a fight breaks out its because the friends either need to fight which happens or arnt really friends to begin with. its natural to take sides and if it breaks itll just be people not jumping on others songs anymore. beef happens and will happen and if bridges burn thats the choice of the human behind the music. itll be worse for their mental if they stay in bad situations with people they hate in order to keep appearances up for fans.

I see this both ways. I know Scru is really pushing drama on this for the beef and the diss tracks and I think that can keep the genre of anime rap interesting, but I also see your perspective of how this is kind of stupid. However, I think part of what Jamar is trying to do is also push the community ahead as some people feel that the anime rap community is stagnating, although I'm not sure I agree. I mean Fabvl has been dropping absolute fire song after song and developing more of a produced, rock sound. DPS and Dizzy have both been pumping out heat for a while. And Rustage has been doing his Rustage things lol. So overall, while I think this is being slightly overblown, I think a healthy amount of dissing in the community is good.
@NousagiCaptain
@NousagiCaptain Жыл бұрын
Ok so I wasnt alone in feeling that stagnation. I have been on a months long break from anime rap, its like they reached a peak where almost ever song is fire, but also its music overload, and they are running out of characters, and now the songs kinda sound the same with different skin. DPS, and Dizzy are like the only ones i can still listen to because you can remove the anime from their music and the songs are still good. I honestly don't know where anime rap can go from here.

Ngl the best of youtube rap was always the diss tracks. Even when KSI was absolutely TERRIBLE, just garbage getting carried by JME and Wocka Flocka he could still drop a decent diss. In fact without Disstractions he likely would have never gotten better at all. And Dizzy’s response was better than a lot of verses he’s put out, competition is just good for growth.

Jamar's argument doesn't make sense to me. Is it hard to work with someone who doesn't communicate well? Sure. But without Shwab's commentary I would not have understood that from his track at all. It sounds like he's saying he's a better rapper than Dizzy, but he's mad that Dizzy didn't work with him, as if that hurt his career? There's no logic in that. If you claim you're the gold in the competition, you should be able to prove that without the support of the people you see as silver and bronze.

Would be great if something big went down in the community, drama or competition or whatever, but I can't disagree with ya here. That shit was hella light if the aim was to rile up people.

To add to this, in my head it just doesn't seem like Jamar's "style", or at least, what I heard of him (which isn't much, tbh), meshes well with the majority of "big names". maybe cam steady or ham sandwich could work, but the only one I see that fits his style is Dizzy. He has this MASSIVE hole he can fill, but then he fucks it up by stirring drama, which doesn't really garner a long-term audience.

wow man. This community is getting kinda controversial cuz' of some stupid "fans" and their "opinions." Like wtf man. I'll be honest here/ I don't listen to Jamar Rose, so I DON'T know how good of an artist he is. So I won't be judging him hard. But bro. Like idk what happened between Dizzy and Jamar in the past but if this is really just about a verse that he didn't get back then MAN! Jamar is being super immature here. I mean Dizzy and Jamar have known each other for like ages right? Dizzy put Jamar up on stage. So Jamar should totally understand Dizzy's communication flaws. Like no-one's perfect right? (maybe except Avicii). But these responses are totally unnecessary (except Dizzy's cuz' he had every right.) But Shwab, I'm really proud of how you handled this. Like, the fact that you don't care and totally understand that you, being one of the nerdcore greats, will always have competition cuz' there's many who reach for the top. And I swear, Jamar's track is not very good. Frankly, it's bad. I'm sorry but I make better music than Nerd Control. Like I'm sorry but it's true. Jamar's so called diss to the nerdcore community was so unnecessary, but I really will forget about this in a week. Thanks for the reaction again Shwab. Love you and your music and your fam.
