I actually saw Quincy Jones' The Last Dragon in theaters the first time with Billy Joe Armstrong from Blink 182. Of course this DeBarge song was huge in that movie. That's such a weird coincidence you'd mix the two! Did Billy Joe tell you that story? It was 1986, the same year Back to the Future is set in. And we'd been up all night snorting crushed okra. We were wandering the mean streets of Columbus OH, of course, where they got their big break. We stumble on George Wendt from Frasier and he gets us into this bar named Salute. We're all drinking and snorting more okra and I wind up getting in a huge fist fight with George Ratzenberger. Well George stabs me with a bar shank, like he's always doing. Billy pulls me out of there and we stumble into an AMC that's showing midnight films. And there's the 1987 classic The Last Dragon up on the screen soaking up the pain from the small puddle of blood pooling around my light liver wound. Good times.
