considering this is the one of the last rhythm games that has actual hit sounds from the song instead of generic hit sounds, i think it's place is still up in the top that must be played with an actual controller

What do you think is the most accessible Pop'n Music game for American players? I want to get into the games but it seems intimidating picking a game to try first, especially with the language barrier

not familiar with north american releases, I only know Pop'n Music Wii but that one doesnt actually have faithful gameplay to the original. You just have to walk through blindly without knowing any japanese with pop''n music games. I recommend Pop'n Music Portable 1 and play 5 buttons at first with or without the actual controller :)

as far as i played with zero japanese knowledge, they're pretty easy to navigate through i'd suggest entries 7-14 on the PS2

Back in the days when my moded ps2 worked I find out through trial an error what the menu points meant. It’s possible to learn by heart what they mean. But nowadays you have google lens with instant translate via phone camera so it would be less of a chore.

You could try using simulators, there’s LR2 and Stepmania Outfox (project outfox) that I know can handle PMS files.

The PS2 games are pretty much what you expect in the arcades. The menus are easy to navigate also. (There’s also Pop’n Music Lively which is a paid service but I suggest trying out a game before spending money on a subscription)

Nice video here ! I've had my Dao PNM controller for some years now, and I had to change the buttons, switches and PCB to have a better arcade feeling while playing. But I've used the vanilla dao version for a really long time, and passing 49EX songs using it is definitely possible. Though I'd really recommend switching to Samducksa buttons and switches as they are less noisy, easier to push and overall much better quality. Oh and I think the official controller is using membranes. Why the hell did Konami do that, it feels so bad and unresponsive ! Anyway, enjoy your game ! Always happy to see people getting into this game :)

@@nobacasanova They are built a way to make it easy to mod I think. For the PopN one, you've got 20 screws on the bottom to open the case. Then you just unplug the cable, undo the nut around the button, and push it out. For the switch, just gently twist it and pull it out of the button. Piece of cake, might be a good video subject for the future 👀✨

I like the aesthetics of the Konami Pop'n Music controller, why the hell would they use membranes instead of switches when they're charging that much money?

I was wondering if you'd be able to offer some insight such How does one begin to play both music and at home? what OS does either require or is there a resource manual out there? been playing these things at the arcade since the 2000s and now that I'm an adult I might as well just buy myself a small slice of happiness. hi you can find to play the emulators and maybe "other means" through google. In this video i can only demonstrate using only lunatic rave 2 and such. i hope you find this information useful

Hi Good Morning ☺I ordered all three kasi e with a total of $158. I really can't compute for it's the exact fee for this controller's individual shipping since the shipping costs was totalled for the three controllers but considering this is the heaviest controller i have of the three. it's probably safe to have a budget of it's $90 max for the shipping. Hope it helps 😃

@@nobacasanova You’re right! They just told me 1-3 weeks (plus 6-8 days) because of the Black Friday delay. They’ll notify me when the order has shipped. If it arrives prior to X-Mas, I’m planning to do pop’n music X-Mas TikToks using those three songs.

@@nobacasanova They announced a new one called POPOLLER, scheduled to release next week. But I'm still on level 31 at the Arcade, I don't think I need to spend on a expensive home ASC yet
