The single best piece of advice was in this video. Do NOT replace your owned dj library with a streaming service. Do NOT rely on streaming services for 100% of your music. It's great when you get those song requests that you dont have. I missed out on a $100 tip because I didnt have a song last week. That would have payed for 10 months of a streaming service. Dang it!

From what I’ve seen algoriddim are dropping Spotify , you can however go for tidal going forward, it’s weird as none of these services provide extended mixes etc so create digging is problably the best option

p much every dj would recommend u buy the songs u want to mix off of itunes cuz 1) its the best quality and 2) rekordbox can analyze it way better than if u pirate stuff

If it’s for private house parties, you can of course take the risk to pirate (with a vpn perhaps), but when you’re going public, as in commercial or in clubs, don’t do that. Buy the stuff legally. And you could keep the streaming part for backup or request (as the man in the video told). Also buying the song is probably going to to have better quality files and correct metadata. And that means that your djaying act is gonna be more reliable because the files are more reliable given the source.

It's a very grey area because of the law. The idea is that you practice with streamed tracks but it all depends on the service you use. DJ specific streaming services such as Beatport may allow public performance, you have to check with the service you use.

It dies in June 2020 and that's why algoriddim has already added Tidal and SoundCloud Go+ integration for the MacOS, iOS and Windows versions.

anybody who uses streamed music is taking the Micky if your a DJ go to proper download service and buy your music in a proper resolution wav or aif which will sound loads better than any stream, you owe it to the dancers and to the artists' whose music you are playing. if your making money from this pay for your music and support the artists that make the stuff and if you buy from Bandcamp the artist will also actually get the money.

Virtual DJ used to support Spotify, I'm not sure why they got rid of it but I wish they still offered it. It was slow loading for the tracks, but it was great for those tracks that you couldn't purchase yet. I miss Spotify in VDJ :( - I used Spotify for hard to find tracks only, never as a main source of music.

Spotify was told to not offer streaming options to any of the major DJ softwares by record companies. So the integration option in VDJ was stopped

I think the term "DJ Streaming " is bit far fetched majority of them will download the tune instantly before you press play locally , so it's not really streaming is it ??? plus is it new or the future ??? not really because most DJ's already have it !!!! they play a tune locally from their SSD without limitations !! it's basically an XBox Game Pass of The DJ World , some might like it or some might not !! it's not really the future as we already do it ? 👍

Won't get any. Being from 2000, Traktor Pro 3 is basically considered legacy software/spaghetti code by NI. All its whistles and bells will slowly move over to their new DJ 2 software (free atm), which already supports Soundcloud.

@@Drrolfski ive been reading/watching more videos about traktor updates and i understand now what you meant... that;'s quite sad to be honest, that new DJ app leaves a lot to be desired. i understand that it's a work in progress but i dont know what their end goal is, is it to have something that everyone can use and it just does all the job for you or will it be as complex and powerful as traktor is now. the MIDI mapping is so good on it i can make any dumb controller be a powerful dj controller with traktor midi mapping... no other dj software has this.

I use Algoriddim Dj + Spotify + DDJ 200 for 6 months and this the pros and cons. PROS - The accessibility of playing virtually any song just by having a good data or Wi-Fi connection - It is relatively the cheapest gear you can get to play (Spotify pro account, DDJ200 and any smartphone) - You don't need any laptop and have hard drives with all your music. - You use few cables when connecting CONS - IT IS NOT SAFE - You totally depend on a good data connection or Wifi, forget about playing in places with very thick walls, basements, the beach or even where there are many cross signals - It is too much stress for the RAM of a smartphone, which only allows you to play for approximately 2 continuous hours - The quality of music is considerably lower compared to having music files on a computer - All gear looks unprofessional In conclusion: - USE it to hang out at parties or meetings, RECOMMENDED if your budget is low and you want to start as a DJ - DO NOT USE IT if you are a professional DJ who receives a payment for his services.

i dont see the fascination of streaming services. are they to be used as a "virtual record store" that you can give a track a test run before you buy the music you like? ....i dont get it!.... i go to beatport and preview tracks before purchase. why would i want to buy a monthly streaming service to find the tracks i like to buy later? no way would i also put my time and effort in making a playlist or virtual libary into a system that can just close its doors on you. its madness. plus im really unsure how an artist can get paid if there are no future record sales... do these services pay the artists? or will artists just disappear and therefore no music?? surely, please no!!

super high end dj controllers are the only ones that you can download or buy into a thumb drive but for something like a ddj-200,400, 600, etc. how would one go about buying music to play, would it have to be on your computer?
