This is how it's performed and has been done like this since it's released. The album release was only done like it was because the Manager and label. But This is a Jeff cut. Thru 70-80s most groups MCs followed the DJ. Because at the time DJs were the popular one, and MCs were basically New at the time.

Not only was Jeff the greatest dj at the time (and I'll submit he forever will be). His technical and musical ability with his perfect cadence was unmatched. AND I think he was the only one at the time who had multiple tracks, overdubs and adlibs with scratches. He was recorded and mixed more like a lead guitarist. I love the layers.
