Jay really snapped. This is “I’ve been to the mountaintop and I’m looking down”. He is talking about his journey in a way that’s reflective of all the things God done through a flawed man. It’s one of THOSE verses that makes you get something new every time you listen. Nowhere near his BEST verse, but it’s amazing.

Alright. This is a triple entendre. Yall caught two. Here's the third: La madrina is Godmother in Spanish. Loro and la Madrina were nickname of his business partners, Juan and Desiree Perez. He cleaned her with the same soap he used to turn cocaine into champagne. It's all a metaphor for turning dope money to legal money, aka money laundering. Washed the dope money with soap and it's clean. Breezy what the business is....he's talking about Jay Brown. A&R for Def Jam that was instrumental in Rihanna's career. Somehow I outfoxed every box they tried to throw me in....Fox News has historically been critical of Jay, reducing him to a drug dealer. He's saying he's proven the nay-sayers that he's more than that. Folk and them told me how highly Caddy spoke of them. And bloke and them from London, Harrow Road, Weston Inn.....Caddy is a UK rapper that was killed in a car crash. Bloke and them is referring to the people from the streets. Hood dudes in London. Harrow Road is a grimy place on the Westside of London. I got lawyers like shooters. Working Pro Bono for him as a favor cause I throw em Ms.....they make so much money from being connected to Jay, that they take some cases for free, to help his mans out, on the strength of that relationship. Me and Biggs probably get too big if they ain't book that load....he's saying there probably wouldn't be a Jay Z the rapper, if the laws didn't intercept a huge load of drugs. They would have gotten bigger and stayed in the dope game. I be speakin' to the souls of men Those of them willin' to die for the existence that this cold world has chose for them....he's says he's the voice of the streets. Real dudes who are down for whatever, to better themselves with the bad hand they were dealt. OG sold to those yall call kingpins. If those are drug lords, then who the hell are we then? He's saying he supplied yalls kingpins before they were kingpins. If they're the drug lords, then Jay and his crew must be the drug gods. They ain't they don't know me internationally, niggas on the road did. I see a lot of Hov in Giggs.......it's been said that Jay isn't an internationally known artist. If that's so, then why is the UK rapper, Giggs, heavily inspired by Jay. Another triple entendre is the plane/higher plane bars. Yall caught two. The third is referencing the Planes clothing company. Monogram in my pocket on the red carpet, you see the face I made that night shit is that shocking.....Monogram is Jay's weed brand. The face he made when he saw Kelly Rowland on the red carpet is the same face made when looking back on their journey to where they are now.

I’ve watched so many reactions to this song. This is why I say Jay is the legit GOAT: no matter the generation, the genre, whether they bump him regularly, when HOVs verse came on, EVERYBODY sat up straight. Not like they did with Wayne cause they did with him too, but it’s like they knew who it was that was about to speak. Back straight eyes wide open body posture like when royalty walks in the room. There ISNT a debate. Jay is the greatest of all time. His words carry more weight than anybody that has ever touched a mic. And you can tell by watching people when he decides to drop a verse

@@Nekowhite93 Jay's verse wasn't supposed to be metaphor heavy. His "bars" were impactful lines of truth.

"The next time we have a discussion of who the goat, u donkeys know this", which basically to the haters, a summation of what he just said in this verse. This is off the dome, historical lyrics! There will NEVER be another Hov! The "grammy freestyle" in 06, "whats free" and "god did" from HOV are three of the best verses you will ever hear. Storytelling at the highest level, true lyricism.

nobody touched a billi till HOV did🤣🤣yo i really missed when people did music for the culture and not for the billboard charts. Jay Z word play is immaculate. Jay z lyrics are for people who went to varsity. You must be able to use your medulla oblongata. He will forever go down as the great in the history books. Music courses should study jayzs lyrics. cos its a work of art
