Some of Khaled's biggest problems when it comes to him putting out albums is the way he structures album's (it's usually 2 or 3 singles 4 at max and the rest is filler), lack of promotion, and overcrowding (too many people on one song). All that being said I don't see how he can complain this was bound to happen when you put no effort into making people want to buy the album.

I think Khaled's point was weak. He essentially said "I make top 40 music and I should be on top because this dude is making weird music". He blamed the packaging and bundles, whined about people not playing Tyler on the radio and just came off as a little entitled. To his credit, he's right about the expectations, top 40 will usually beat anything that's not, but that's not because it's BETTER, it just appeals to a broader demographic. Tyler got the #1 spot *in spite of* the fact that he didn't push a radio friendly first single, he dropped an experimental album, he dropped a concept album and he completely diverged from what his core audience expected from him. For an artist that focused on hitting all of the check marks to top the charts to go behind a guy who seemed to do the exact opposite tells me a lot about the greatness of the other guy.
