Very interesting topic indeed. For what I can only refer to as ‘wisdom from God’ because no one ever told me this before I got married, my wife and I made a decision immediately after we got married that we shall never talk ill of each other to our parents or even to our siblings. We made this a cardinal rule in our marriage from day 1 and became a binding covenant which has throughout our marriage kept our family members guessing whether we ever have issues. I never ever discuss my wife with my mother unless I’m talking something positive and the same goes to her. This thing works folks because as a result of it, every family member has always respected my wife and vice versa. My mother does not know about my wife’s weaknesses and vice versa because these things are never discussed with them as a result of which they are left with only one option which is to respect us. We learnt from the very onset that the moment you start discussing your spouse negatively with your mother, you open a window for them to become a ‘ Mrs Fix it’ a role which they undertake very quickly with devastating consequences. Love your mothers but also keep them at bay when it comes to the running of your home and you’ll see nothing but respect from both sides towards both of you. Never discuss your wife with your mother and vice versa even where there are issues because at the end of the day nobody can really solve your issues apart from you yourselves. I must give it up to the Murayas for allowing themselves to become a marriage school to many struggling couples. It’s a unique vlogg where one goes in and comes out having learnt a lot. Keep it up guys. To Mo, I have a very good wife and can tell you that God gave you a very good wife an a dedicated home maker. You’ll never find another like her any where so be thankful and take care of her.

My hubby can drop our stuff for his mother. His argument is that his mother is a widow and he promised his dad to take care of her which I have no issue. I even told him I know his mother and his family comes first but na mimi nimejua njia za kusurvive. I saw it on the day of our wedding where even after getting married he supported them in some things we had just been told we are to do together. Men are very selfish when it comes to their side of family. I have lost family members in my family and he really doesn't seem to be so concerned so much. When he looses someone in their side of family or there is a function kwao home I won't hear the end of it. He tries sometimes but I guess for some men cutting the cord takes so long. I stopped telling him what goes on in my family even if my mum or dad is sick I really avoid telling him cs even calling my parents is something he rarely does.
