AMENDMENT The model has splashers that were not fitted to the real thing, I guess to suit model railway wheels. Sorry I didn't mention it.

I have one of these and I am disheartened to hear so many negative comments. I had no trouble taking the cab roof off to fit crew and hardwired a sound decoder and I've been very impressed.

Hi Those are just my thoughts & experience. I do believe that the Peckett B2 is a better, but the 1361 is not a bad model. In fact in many ways it is forward looking (DCC chipping & the detail pack). Am I okay asking what the tolerances were like when taking the roof ect? I believe it was my model if I’m honest. Thanks Olly

It actually looks quite good but it's lack of interior access and lack of metal parts is definitely something I experienced with my j94. Does it have proper pick ups? Also very nice for it to come with that fairly extensive detailing pack!

Indeed, a little disappointing... It’s got the style of the j94 for pick ups It does! I think more should have those sorts of packs! Cheers Olly

mine will be a static model. Did not work. Very erratic runner on DC. Non-runner on DCC. Changed decoder (different make) no different. Kerno replaced it with another, and gave some configure tips (good service). It is still very eratic, got it to go about 4 meters without stopping once, rest of the time only goes a meter or two then stops, needs another prod. Poor pickups? Loose connection inside? Mechanical jamming? Can't open it to check. Roof also does not come off. Two out of two with the same issue.

That’s a shame. I find mine needs a bit of TLC (run on the rolling road and a clean) whenever I wanna run it on a layout. Shame as they could have been soemthing mega

I have a lost sister of 1363. My model of the same class, no. 1361 herself, is in Photographic Grey livery. This has earned her the affectionate name of Spookie. Her full name is Spookie the Ghost Saddle Tank Engine. When I first saw her on the channel of Sam's Trains, she sent a slight chill down my spine. Inspiration from Sam helped me buy the model steamy for myself. The first model I bought online, from DJ Models Shop, only worked for 30 seconds. This second model, from ebay, runs like a dream; I decided to give Heljan a second chance. You can watch videos of my first and second models of Spookie on my channel, Kelly Ashford Trains, if you like. Please don't be frightened of her, she's a shy and friendly Ghost Engine. All she wants is a friend, she's more afraid of you than you are of her.
