Namjoonie says that he often relies on j-hope during interviews because Hobi makes the mood better. As j-hope isn't afraid to be extra and doesn't take himself too seriously in these interviews, it makes the other members more relaxed which allows Namjoon to do what he does best. ^_^ Just throwing this tidbit out there. It's an entirely new level of endearing when you realise how often and readily he puts himself out there to bring the rest of the team out of their shell. It's behaviour to be admired, not mocked. Not to say that's what you were doing, but it could be perceived as that.

baconx That’s why I pointed it out. We watch all these interviews so it’s fair for some people to be like, “can Hobi chill or whatever” even though I am not one of those people. I love him the most. To the GP, each interview is new because they’re not constantly following them like we are. Still, he consistently strives to make each individual interview/appearance easier for the members and I appreciate him so much. Jinnie does it as well. I just wish people wouldn’t keep writing Hobi off as “cringe” or “silly” or whatever else when he’s so integral to their authenticity. 😊 I feel like we’re making the same point, but I just wanted to make sure that I’m not misunderstood in anyway. I wish Hobi’s efforts would be more acknowledged throughout the fandom. 😊👌🏾

Blessing O. I agree with you very much! That was well said. It really IS hard to get a sense of an actual entire interview when the more extreme/noteworthy/adorable/expressive moments are all mashed together one right after another. I also think that if Hobi was a real challenge, 1. It would show up as more awkwardness among all the members, and 2. Namjoon would work it out with Hobi personally. Honestly, I feel like the greater number of these moments is a sign that they ARE feeling more comfortable in these situations. And we really are getting their authentic, adorable, imperfect selves. When I’ve watched other groups being interviewed in the US, it’s much more reserved and straightforward. (I’m not throwing shade, I don’t blame them a bit for that. It’s a new environment and it can be overwhelming. And other groups are not allowed as much freedom to express their uniqueness (it varies from group to group/company to company). In fact, I’ve had the sense that interviewers have looked for more of that from other groups because they enjoyed BTS first. They’re not expecting the more reserved version. The US does respond to things that are ‘sparkly’ so I see it as a plus for BTS overall. (That said, the freedom does leave room for little bobbles. And we can cringe. Not for Army, we love them. But we know someone outside might raise an eyebrow.)

Namjoon works so hard when they’re in the U.S. there’s an actual vid of him just being exhausted and trying to be a good strong leader but just overloaded from translating and englishing that Hobi takes the mic from him to do the interview. I have so much respect for him and what he does.

For u hobi's might came out a bit difficult bt to me personally if u watch their full interviews, Hobi actually works as a tension breaker cz the awkwardness sometimes killing the vibe but his cute silliness makes it bearable. When RM sometimes can't handle it, Hobi always backed him up eventho his english isn't that good especially during the early years of them coming to the US. Now the members are slightly comfortable in US interviews so that's why others can communicate better than before but still Hobi's cheerful self shine brighter and I love it so much.😍

These are only a compilation of hilarious parts. They are so unapologetically themselves and that is something this fandom really loves and appreciates. They respond according to the mood of the interview. If it is a serious interview they are serious, if it is a fun interview they try to make it as fun as possible. Hobi is usually the one who sets the atmosphere, or Jin. They are usually the icebreakers and the boys are very thankful for them. Hobi always takes it as his responsibility to keep the energy and keep members involved and motivated. He has a very important role in the team, he is called the second leader or pillar of the group. And you are right, one can clearly see how much they like each other. If you want to watch a serious interview, it will be nice if you check out their Grammy academy interview.

Jhope is more willing to put himself out there to ease the tension for Namjoon. Namjoon also said that Jhope could be leader if he wasn’t. In Bon Voyage, Jhope is actually the responsible one making sure the members have their stuff, looking after the money, tidying up, reading their trip carefully etc. so his role is shocking to those who don’t know him but he’s actually amazing!

this is the reason why army love them. tbh you are too hard to jhope, i think you should know more about their relationships and their role in the group to think about it correctly. hoseok is the one who always helps namjoon in different interviews and etc. how rm said jhope is the second leader in a group and he has influence to every member. don't underestimate him, he knows what he's doing. for example, his behavior always helps to establish a connection and break the scope. america loves them because the audience like that kind of content. You should watch "Burn The Stage" there are documentary about what is happening behind the stage. this helps you to know more about their personalities.

Okay I have to add that MOST of the interviewers here were interviewers that BTS already knew! They already had a “bond” with. So they were EXTRA extra^^ So both the interviewers knew what they were getting into ans BTS was extra comfortable joking around.

Actually J Hope helps RM relaxing the interviews... Even he doesn't speak English like RM he is always trying to answer. The way they do interviews is one of people found refreshing in USA. And yess the radio program "The Mess" is the most relaxing interviews the boys really enjoy to interact with the hosts.

I love that they’re being themselves. They don’t want to be a burden and try to entertain even if there’s a language barrier and I love the other members for that. They were a bit stiff around 2015/16 and I love that they’re outgoing like that. Interviewers always say how nice the boys are and that they want to see them when they’re in the US again. There’s an interview where u can clearly see that Joon is overwhelmed with all the questions but the translator they had wasn’t doing his job so Hobi took the mic and said to the translator that he should do his job. I’m thankful that they’re taking care of each other. The vid seems to be a lot when you’re not used to watch their interviews often but I think they’re doing well. And it always fits the occasions. The Grammy Museum interview was very different. I love to watch videos of them taking care of each other. They’re really a family and not just a band. 💜 I hope you will watch one of those videos. ☺️ Greetings from Germany! 🙌🏻

Jino I've been around since your "Who is BTS" video and had been wanting you to see this side of them for so long. BTS are so genuily funny lol like they really don't care about keeping up an image so everything they do and say feels so natural, they want to eat? they eat they want to do some random silly dance? they do it they try to say some stuff in english but if they can't they just go for korean or konglish I like it I could watch them talk for hours ajjajaja I just wish some interviewers did and effort to make them feel comfortable since the language barrier shouldn't be an excuse for asking irrelevant questions when you have RM who will 100% understand you and do his best to translate

I think when they're together (which is 98% of the time), they feed off of each other's energy & goofiness to the point that they don't give a shit what other's looking at them are thinking (whilst obviously being respectful etc). Especially with these US interviews where after a few interviews in they were being asked the same unoriginal questions over & over again, so I guess they tried to keep themselves and us entertained. Lol, I used to find these a bit difficult to watch at first as well because they really are SO EXTRA sometimes but now I think it's one of the things I love most about them, so unapologetically themselves. They do have more serious interviews (their interviews with Zach Sang and Liam are amazing every time, for example) it also really depends on the person interviewing them and the questions they ask. But it is true they can sometimes be a bit awkward in America 😅 most of us find it very endearing thought 💜

Their interviews really are awkward, but it's gotten better over the years as their English improved and they grew more familiar and comfortable with American media. They now have good relationships with the people who interview them (they've met many times now). I think it was a combination of being shy at first, but also, the interviewers would ask THE. SAME. QUESTIONS. all the time. The boys started being crackheads to make all the interviews more fun for themselves and also for the fans. We would sometimes get 20 interviews in a single day and it was exhausting for both the boys and the fans. It's much better now, though, since Bts is now in higher demand and only do select interviews now.

These days they make better interviews... I feel like they got better at English and most importantly they feel more comfortable around American interviewers. I realised that the American general public finds them really cute in these interviews. Just read the comment section under Bts's interview with Jimmy Fallon or Colbert for example.

US interviews always hard to watch lol, especially when they asked the boys silly & boring questions over & over again! They were never being taken seriously, as u know how much the boys being perceived as this teenage boyband.. It's in the past tho.. In this new year of 2020, US interviewer kind of learn to be better in making us ARMY more satisfied. We're protested continously abt how they should offer serious & thoughtful questions rather than something like, "who do u want to collab with?". They even asked us abt questions we want to ask to BTS.. The interviews for MOTS:7 are pretty much good, it's much better than in the past (I never meant to not liking the boys' silly side, heck I fricking LOVE IT! It's just, I know what Jino meant, thinking abt that kind of crazy interviews being watched by US GP through US TV)

It's awkward because many ppl who interview them ask the same questions over and over again and they have to come with some answers every time😂, so many of them don't do research at all. And Jhope said that he tries to help RM by expressing through his body since he is not fluent, it kinda makes everyone relaxed.
