The drum beat was originally programmed by Zack De La Rocha, Shadow asked if he could use the beat and develop it further after ZDLR walked from a collab project.

Wow. That video left my heart pounding. What an intense ride. Very subtle. I couldn't tell where it was going at first, but after the third "cycle" I got it. From what I can tell, it's a story about angle--what you see about the world If you only look at it from one angle. But if you turn the camera, you can see how everything really fits together, all the tangled webs we weave, how we interact with each other. Only then will you see that there actually IS a method to the madness...just barely.

Memory. Memory is not as accurate as we would believe. The more we go over a memory, the more it changes, first subtly, then more and more aggressively, but we never notice it and we go over it the same ways, even though it no longer resembles the reality that it was. That's what I got out of it, anyway.

today is my birthday and I just wanna say this is tone of my top 10 favorite songs of all time. feels like the trials and tribulations and blessings of life in auditory form. the constant changes in cadence and sound variations are wonderful and mirror life’s ever-changing vibe and feel. all while keeping a euphoric undertone. what a masterpiece. thank you dj shadow.

I get it - it is telling the story of a man's life (the guy in the leather jacket who at first out ran the car). It is showing how he got involved in crime and his and his girlfriends relationship. The whole thing is backwards, at the very end the boy kicking the ball is him as a kid also note how it was morning when the kid did that. Very creative!

I hate to sound cliche, but this song really sums up my childhood. The late 90's to early 2000's was a pretty incredible time to experience the world with the eyes and ears of a child. This song just restores that nostalgia, that sense of child-like awe toward the seemingly limitless world. Every time I hear this song, its like I'm a kid again.

The 2000s were the era of style. This video is the proof. A time when alternativ music could be heard on TV, a time when people had pure authentic creativity. And hipsters appeared in the 2010s, and arts and entertainments kept going down the drain since then. Fantastic track, which shines brighter than ever.

@n00binbox As a ADULT i have the time to work, play, rest and yes thats right try and come off as a so called 'intelligent person' ....... But thanks for adding your input. It was to point out that YES (including myself once) the youth these days are becoming less aware of whats physically around them and more involved in what is in front of them - i.e learning life skills from social networks BECAUSE they are not outside, meeting real people,communicating face to face (REAL LIFE ACTIONS) etc

I watched “The Wild” movie yesterday. From time to time you can hear in that movie short sample from El condor pasa. Each time that sample was appearing in the movie I was starting to think who else used that sample and where. It took me almost 24 hours to find the right answer;) The movie is 4/10;)

My mother recently got me to get her a dj shadow CD for Christmas, this seems to be the only one I like so far, let’s hope I warm up to the others. The lack of vocals is really off-putting for me tbh, but mum likes it.
@benalexander21044 жыл бұрын
I think your mum's got good taste. Hope you get into it dude. This album was a grower for me, sneaks up on you and before you know it, you're living in it. I agree though, this might be the standout. Especially when you allow the end of the previous track - Blood On The Motorway (which is also pretty poignant) to segue into it...

On the run from someone who knows alot about you Left from the stress you faced and too hurt to return after leaving Major argument with your gf/spouse Locked out Ignored/forgotten Kicked out Decided to be with the one you love against your family's desires Too much time on your hands/out of time Off with friends doing dangerous things Breaking windows of a car as revenge for pain inflicted At the wrong place at the wrong time.
