DJ is one badass SOB. There’s a reason why he’s still alive. He didn’t need to say where he was. But, where ever he went those enemies had no chance. My wife met some ST guys in DLI at her initial training as a 97E. Some of the most humble military guys you will ever meet. I needed up finding out a guy I grew up with went on to be a ST guy. Didn’t ask what team. Wasn’t shocked at all. Smaller guy but, had a heart of a lion no give up was is motto.

160 pushups? Unreal. I went to be the Sheriff's Academy in 94. On the final fitness test to graduate, I did 64 in one minute and got an exceptional rating. To knock out 160 untimed and not be the number one is insanity. These guys are the All-Star athletes. Very commendable badasses.

I spent two years with JSOC as an intel analyst. ST6 guys are just different somehow. You can put a ST6 guy next to a regular SEAL, and instantly tell who the ST6 guy is and who the normal SEAL is.

That's wierd because Richard NMI Marcinko O-5 ret US Navy, made it clear to all "shooters & looters" in Six to NOT stand out or seem noticeable in any way! Hair & grooming standards, any logo-patch-sign, clothes, weapons, vehicles. Marcinko as CO/SEAL 6 even had 2 Intelligence specialists, USMC tracking, checking on members to make sure they were classified, not ribbon chasers, glory seeking.

I went to the Navy's SERE school (not as a SEAL, but Aircrewman) in winter 2005. Then had a follow on school at Damneck. I remember my school house challenging DEVGRU to a softball game and I was up to bat with my fresh SERE t-shirt on. All those DEVGRU operators in their 20's and 30's were looking at this 19 year old and I remember them saying to back up in the outfield cause SERE school was up to bat. According the book about Adam Brown it was 3 minutes each for pushups(80 minimum) and situps(90 minimum). The run was 3 miles in 22:30 minutes. And the swim was 880 meters in 13 minutes.

On my very first test I did 32 in 2 minutes and got a near fail rating. I got in shape there which SUCKED. I would recommend being in shape before you go. We did A LOT of pushups. Millions. I paid dearly for not being 100% ahead of time.

2005, Secret, SEAL Standards. No one really noticed, but the pass rate of those in training to be US Navy SEAL commandos has gone way up. However, the navy isn’t worried about the quality slipping. One of the rarely discussed, or even mentioned, aspects of the SEAL training was that the number passing in each class depended more on how many SEALs the navy needed, than on the quality of the candidates. The final cut was not made randomly. Increasingly difficult (like sitting in the cold California surf at night until enough people passed out) tasks would be assigned to the students until enough "failed" to leave the magic number of candidates the navy had jobs for. One could say that this was simply a way to get the best of the best or grading on the curve. and many SEALs accepted it as a reasonable way to select elite fighters. But the fact remains that many qualified trainees were flunked. Now, everyone that qualifies gets to be a SEAL. The navy is expanding the SEAL force and needs all the qualified people it can get. It’s doubtful that there will be any noticeable decline in the quality of SEAL commandos.

I'd say read SEAL officer Denver Rorke's non fiction book about BUD/S, screening, SpecWar. Rorke explains in detail how modern: 2000-2020 era SpecWar units are picked, trained, used. SEALs and SWCC do much more pre screening, psych evals, testing than the 1980s 1990s. SEALs must condition & train to withstand Hell Week & the runs, swim tests. It's not easy but more students pass: 2010 to 2022/2023 eras because of the rigid structure. I'd add even Rorke states JSOC & Navy units have grown 2X but missions, needs went up 4X.

When you look up the inverted cross of Saint Peter. It states that Saint peter did not feel worthy of the cross. Thats not correct. In preview, we watched saint Peters reaction when he finds out that he fathered Meri Megladon in this life. After the scandal with Cdr Richard NMI Marcinko; mid 1980s they switched names to DevGru or Development Group. The unit increased too in the 1980s, 1990s. More squadrons. Larger budgets 📂. I heard during the Bush/SecDef Rumsfeld era the Navy, JSOC gave DevGru a new classified title. Most just used DevGru.

There have been a few and you can find them in some TV shows now and another acting gigs. One of them became a male model and an actor or you can probably find him via Google. But there are generally far less black Navy SEALs, because in general, African-Americans don’t gravitate towards special forces. They’ve done research on this, and one of the basic reasons is because of why people go into the military. A lot of white people go in for travel and adventure, but a lot of Black people go in for economic stability. They’ve spent their childhood being shot at - generally speaking, they’re looking more for stable careers and stable income not more danger.
