call me old school but i can't watch any battle where they don't have to change their records. when i battled that was the hardest part switching your records and having to drop your needle on a little tiny tape mark when youre nervous as fuck...

I battled back in the vinyl days, but if we didn't let people use DVS there would be no big comps I believe. You need sponsorship and the craft moving forward with the tech to keep it alive, DVS has raised the bar for complexity in the actual decks and how clean a set is which is a good thing. Having said that I like to to see people doing a great routine with vinyl because I know how much more difficult it is.

@WesKingpriaghosts5 жыл бұрын
DJ Ned Roy they can skip. They can also wear out. Scratch one and find out lol. Trust me you can make PLENTY of mistakes. All of the basic fundamentals of mixing is required w serato.

dude where are the technical juggles of the DMC routines... shit is so boring and to noisy these days.

sets are too premade nowadays, but gotta give skillz props for his cuts.
@phht05686 жыл бұрын
Fabian Rood you no honestly i just believe its cause dvs, like it still sounds really chopping on beat cuts and what not. But skills actually sort of pulled it off. Now im open mindly biased but i liked traps routine better then this, but i hold this set on par with traps on what they where going for. Skills did a short 6 minute esq psuedo mix tape. Like the progression of his set exemplified what dmc stands for, disco mixxing competition, albiet since hip hop hit the scene it became a turntablist fest, not complaining because we get really fantastic roitines that the djs could keep going for minutes, idealy showing that miximg isnt just moving a ctossfader, matxhing beats, and messing with eqs, but cutting said beats to create sometjing new. But back to topic, skills performed well with what he aimed for, a modern tablist mixtape track done all on turntables, where traps routine was a call back to old hip hop style and battling. Though i shouldve addressed this in the beginning but i know how the sets sound "premade" and its in my opinion the sound and software that come with dvs, but in addressing the premade sounding routine, dont forgot that dj craze practiced his ser before he went on stage to win his first time at the dmc. Saying this sounds premade based on the quality of sound or use of "samples and noises" is like saying crazes set sounded premade cause he practiced that single set, which all these guys do, they compete using different this and refine there sets once they hit finals. A good dj prepares based on the audience, thus going with a, i wont truely say intricate ser because im no expert it turntabilism but scratch myself, designed set to what people would deem good and enjoyable in using your skills. Idk this dude or trsp shouldve won, i lean more trap but this dudes sesh wasnt half bad, albite prob lost cause it was moee of a mixape song but with the anagramed meaning to dmc, disco mix competition, fits rather well cause perform more or less on the fly songs is what these djs do, mix master mikes rescue 916 or w.e. the thing is called. But w.e. im no pro jusge just a fan and amatuer dj wjo just practices as a hobby.

People barley even back spin anymore. its just chase routines with a occasional pull back to catch a snare or something.
@solomonreynolds87456 жыл бұрын
Using Serato there's no need to back spin when you can press a button to jump back to the cue point
