Mixmaster Mike was the ultimate halftime DJ - and intro DJ - and end of the night DJ too come to think of it. In fact the Beastie Boys events were good but wouldn't have been half as good without Mixmaster Mike's warmup routines. I remember him getting a 5 minute standing ovation from the crowd and the rest of the Beastie Boys were not even on stage yet. DJs are changing - I mean all styles, some for the best but at least we were alive when the very best were playing at their finest. They just don't make them like this anymore. I mean Hardwell - who the fuck is he and why is he so fucking huge - dull and uninspiring BS TBH and seemingly scared to throw in the odd scratch in case it messes up their livestream. Ummmm DJing has gone to shit too I guess :-/
