Ah, I didn't immediately realise that I had clicked on the wrong one. Perhaps when a video is in multiple parts, then put the part number in the thumbnail? It would help viewers know where to start. Still, love your work, part of me misses the old vlogdave intro haha

I like your videos. As a guy who lived in Germany in the 90s, I am too, trying to relearn German.

Could I, an English speaker, please ask for a pointer on 'Also'? Would an appropriate translation be 'thus', or, in the more informal English of internet argot, 'thusly' also work? I know that also is used in at least the former way for the title of Also Sprach Zarathustra, commonly rendered in English as Thus Spake Zarathustra. Recently in casual speech with friends the English construction '... and you referred to me _thusly_?' came up. I appreciate this is very informal speech but I wonder if also would be appropriate in such a sentence and if so, where the emphasis/placement of the word should be to sound natural in colloquial German?

By the way for an Austrian bavarian dialect speaker it’s quite easy to find out, if you have to take dass or das, you have only translate the sentence to dialect - e.g. That’s not normal, that you are speaking in that way - Das ist aber nicht normal, dass du in solch einer Weise sprichst - Des is oba net normal, das du so redst. So when you can say in dialect „des“ - it’s das with one s. When you say „das“ in dialect it’s dass in high german. Easy - 😂🇦🇹

Is writing dass with to s and not with ß as daß really that helpful? Why did Germany dropped it?
