Film set staff including their security are the rudest people you will ever meet, they filmed in our street once for a program called 'Pie in the Sky' they setup all their equipment on our property and driveway without even asking. If they would have simply been polite and respectful we would have allowed it, but just trespassing on someone's front lawn and drive is just not acceptable. They think they are above the law.

Same happened to me once. Looked out the window and there were about 10 people on my drive with a little desk organising a photo shoot on the street where about 30 others were standing. I walked up to them and they were polite but ignored the fact they were blocking our access and setup shop on private property. To be honest I wasn't going out and found the whole thing interesting so didn't complain.

15 years iv worked for a production company and honestly they think the own every street or location public or not , restrict peoples movements in public, they live an a small entitled bubble haha they will never change, iv seen them stopping people walking there dogs, asking people to keep the noise down in their own gardens an even once tried making a location manager to see if an airport would hold flights for 15minutes so they could get there shot without the noise of planes flying over haha absolutely deluded

People in Britain sadly don’t even own their homes that’s the reality . If you want to make changes you have to ask permission to build in your own garden. You need permission for certain size fences and sheds . This is hardly ownership is it? More importantly you don’t own the tiny patch of pavement in the front of your house but you’ weed it and keep it clean too. The council rarely come by to weed pavements . In other countries across the world you actually own the land and the house and can do alterations like this without seeking “permission”

I'm going on the basis that this is a private enterprise. It's not unknown for companies to copy a film idea and release it as a competing product. It's quite legitimate therefore to cordon off the various lots from public view. It's just like the car manufacturers who disguise new models during road testing. In that case photographers often capture images and that can feed into the press either online or in print.
