His point was clearly less about his importance and more about DJ committing an offence, and flying his drone unsafely. That is clear to see. DJ was in the wrong, there is no disputing it. This channel is about promoting safe and legal drone flights. That flight was unsafe and unlawful. Taking off from a wooded area is obviously a bad idea. Knowing that he didn't want it flying over at all but legally couldn't stop it . So got his partner in crime to go down and make up a reason to stop him . Ask soon as he got out of that crap of a car he wanted to know if he had line of sight . Now legally that drone was up vertical DJ hasn't had time to fly it because he turned up . From where it was he had a clear view of its position. Also that cop who was so concerned about safety, insisted on talking to a drone pilot while in charge of an aircraft. That in itself is a BREACH OF C.A.A regulations. That cop like they do so many time ", fitted DJ up " took down his personal details under a lie and threats of his equipment being Confiscated. Very very annoying interaction knowing that this guy, who did nothing wrong, now has his name tagged as being in the wrong - no jury, no judge, no proof - just a baseless accusation from that bully boy, and now his drone I.D. is tagged forever. Just because you can't point it out doesn't mean you lost visual line of sight. Being hard to find above you is different than not having a direct visual line of sight. Did we just watch the same video? Because he pointed out that the drone had line of sight to where he was standing. So clearly there was line of sight. @@thetruth9210 Exactly. If you had to constantly look at the drone, that would make a visual display from a phone or a remote with a built in screen illegal to use if you ever looked at it. How would people be able to frame a shot using a video link? It doesn't seem to make sense what the officer is saying here.

I think you're right there, I reckon a lot of police officers get used to people blithely giving their ID upon request and lose sight of the rules under which they can legally require them. Then upon being challenged they take personal offence and get annoyed, then the usual stuff follows etc.
@BDX552 ай бұрын
I’m astounded at the ignorance of some people on here, saying the officer is committing an offence by interrupting the drone pilot. No he isn’t. It is perfectly acceptable for somebody to talk to you while you are flying a drone, it is up to you as the pilot to keep control of the drone and, if necessary, ask them to wait while you put it in a safe position or, better still, land it. Also, by law, if a police officer suspects an offence has been committed he or she can require you to land the drone and give details of both the Operator ID and the Flyer ID. He obviously did suspect an offence had been committed: flying the drone without having Visual Line of Sight. Would you expect an officer to turn a blind eye if you went through a red light?

I, personally, am not fond of the ability of drones to fly over private property and "snoop", but I'm less fond of the attitude of some plods in these videos.

Once someone distracts you it is incredibly difficult to point out your drone if its above 50 meters. You can lose it briefly just from scratching your nose never mind an officer questioning you. He has visual line of sight meaning he can locate it if he gave him a moment to spot it. Nothing was obstructing his view. This officer bullied the man by forcing him to answer immediately even after knowing he distracted a drone operator. Very unprofessional and well done for capturing it on camera so he can learn from his mistakes today.

KZbinrs are all paid for the adverts shown on the channel. Not for the individual videos. That the adverts appear on videos doesn't mean that the advertiser commissioned the video. KZbin doesn't pay for the individual videos to be made either. A KZbinr can run their content creation as a business or just do it as hobby or sideline. It just depends on how much they make. Even if they are pretty successful and make a lot of money they don't have to set up as a limited company. They just have to pay taxes. Setting up as a company can lower the amount of tax paid.

BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) BVLOS, also known as Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS), allows you to operate the UAV while it is not in your line of sight and there is no visual observer. To control the drone securely, you rely on communication and sensing tools and technology such as the Remote Pilot Station (RPS) or Ground Control Station (GCS). For example, you can use BVLOS to fly a drone and conduct inspections or aerial surveys of land or bodies of water. But, you must obtain A Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) from Transport Canada. on a case-by-case basis.
