Much respect to you. I’ve been djing for over 20 years but have always shyed away from using Serato. Traktor is my go to program followed by Dj pro Algoriddim then VirtualDJ. During this Covid lockdown I’ve been trying to learn Serato but found the beat grids too fast for me to see my cue points clearly even on my 17inch MacBook Pro. Thanks for inspiring me by answering the comment on how to slow down the grid. It has made a world of difference. God bless u brother 👍

Bro.... u are a star. I learned a lot from watching you. Pls I never understood how to use a loop. Pls can you explain why u used the loop pls. Thanks
@DjBlinkBlink5 жыл бұрын
You are welcome Chris. Thanks a lot for your feedback. Now to answer your question, I used the loops so I can be in control of a "specific part" of the track. Let me break this down: If you want to mix 2 songs, you don't want them to "clash". One of the ways to ensure this does not happen is to"loop a part of the track" by using 4 beats, 2 beats, 8 beats or even 16 beats. This would make it easy for you to monitor both songs as they are playing together and then when you are ready, you can turn the outgoing song down and then increase the volume of the incoming song. Hope this answers your question mate. Cheers, DJ Blink-Blink

I have heard experienced professional dis mix vocals with vocals and pull it off and fit the vocals together however this is a lot harder approach and its easier to do what the video says and keep vocals away from each other and just mix on the non vocal part on at least one deck or both decks.
@DjBlinkBlink2 жыл бұрын
In all honesty, mixing vocals with vocals is "word play" and won't go down well in wedding or corporate events as you know 😅 However in a club environment or private event, you would be a star and would definitely be hailed as a king!! So will I "word play" if I get the chance? Naaaaaaaa Now you ask why....well it's too much headache and stress mate 😅😂 Cheers, DJ Blink-Blink

@DjBlinkBlink5 жыл бұрын
Hello Wale, thanks for your feedback mate. To answer your question, a MacBook Air is strong enough for DJing (I use a MacBook air). You just have to make sure you have about 8gb of Ram (it usually comes with 4gb of Ram but I upgraded mine to 8gb). That memory would be enough to handle anything you need to use on it. Now for the second part of your question, the Pioneer DDJ 1000 is a MACHINE!!!. I have a high rating of it cos of the size of the jog wheels and the display screen inside the jog wheels itself. You cannot go wrong if you buy this controller mate. Good luck, DJ Blink-Blink

@DjBlinkBlink3 жыл бұрын
Hello Des, well not really. It's just a preference for me because the chorus is a known part of the song. Remember when you are transitioning between tracks, you are aiming to do it "seamlessly" and a good way to get this perfectly is to aim to transit at a section of the song that would "hide" any minor errors. Hello Gary aka "Gary the king", Firstly welcome to the DJ world. You would love it and it would open the gateway to loads of fun for you. So to answer your question, there is no difference between using the SYNC button and tempo option. You just have to make sure your beatgrids are properly set when using SYNC which would allow the 'sync system' to read your tracks easily when calculating the BPM. You can watch this video I did that discusses sync kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKi1oZxtiLeLpc0 and you can watch this video to learn how to edit your beatgrids kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHeoXppqnJ6Kp80 Feel free to follow my page on Instagram 'djblinkblink' if you want to see some more videos of my events and live sessions. What does beat grid do
@DjBlinkBlink4 жыл бұрын
Beatgrids are series of markers that point to the location of beats within the track. They are used for advanced mixing functions such as sync, precise effects synchronization, looping and accurate BPM representation. Hi mate, are you talking about the tempo? (increasing the tempo for your BPM)
@nozer-i-am6 жыл бұрын
@@DjBlinkBlink yes, but when i increase tempo with tempo-father using my controller, this stops at 8% but in you video for example i see that tempo reaches also 50%
@DjBlinkBlink6 жыл бұрын
@@nozer-i-am You can adjust the TEMPO RANGE from 8% / 16% / 50% easily. To do this hold SHIFT and press the TEMPO RANGE button at the same time. Let me know if this helps mate. Cheers, DJ Blink-Blink

can you save cue's for each song, or do you have set then up every time play ?
@DjBlinkBlink5 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, Your hot cues are saved permanently for ever song until you delete the hot cues. This means you don't need to set them up every time you play 😎

what mixer would u chose to use with serato dj and 2 turntables ?or should I just get rane sl2 or SL3 ? scratch live dose not have the beat bar to count . @@DjBlinkBlink
@DjBlinkBlink5 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, If I would go for either, I would buy the Rane SL3 cos of the extra features. Also remember Serato DJ and Serato scratch live would work with both the SL3 and SL2 so you can easily swap over to Serato DJ if you need to use the beat grids or just install Ableton on Serato scratch live

Blink Blink it looks like you are using serato dj
@DjBlinkBlink3 жыл бұрын
I use Serato DJ Pro. Please be aware, all Serato DJ licenses and Serato DJ enabled controllers were carried over to Serato DJ Pro (Serato DJ Intro and Serato DJ packages were combined to become Serato DJ Pro). So, in as much as you have a full license for Serato DJ as of the end of 2018, you would have been moved over. Cheers, DJ Blink-Blink
