@DJLiftOFF2 жыл бұрын
🙏🏾 thanks. There are definitely times it’s useful and I honestly think it’s silly to not use it for prideful reasons. I do also think it’s imperative to know how to DJ without sync, and understand how to manually beat match, but sync has its benefits for sure.
@DPHOUSE672 жыл бұрын
@@DJLiftOFF I’ve been DJing since the 80s with vinyl. And I know how to beat match. However, with today’s technology, the software analyzes the songs for bpm and other things, but when trying to find a song with the same bpm, I dont understand trying to beat match by ear, when the bpm is right there. Phrasing, counting beats are the other piece one needs to know. But I happily use sync and the only thing I worry about and try to get right is phrasing and shjt like that. I use the technology. Some of these proper DJs try to pick and choose what people should and shouldn’t do.

Any thoughts on how to fix this or is it hardware dependant?

Something weird I find with the twelves is that if there isnt any start time and you start the deck while holding the plater, the song plays for a bit and then cuts off. So I have actually have a small amount of start time to prevent that
@hiphopsuperman2 жыл бұрын
That happens with every motorized platter. Happens on my NS7III, happens on the REV7 as well. Not sure why…
@DJLiftOFF2 жыл бұрын
Very interesting. I’ve never tried doing that but I wonder why motorized platters do that 🤔
@hiphopsuperman2 жыл бұрын
@@DJLiftOFF I actually found out the answer to this. This is actually a Serato feature, not a bug. Motorized platters, like turntables, have a short “wind-up” before reaching full speed. Serato realized they could have instant start up (with no wind-up) if they program the software to ignore the motorized platter getting up to speed. The problem is that it takes the software a fraction of a second to know whether the platter is just getting up to speed, or if it’s being held still. That’s the short sound you hear. To overcome this, go in the Serato settings and turn “start-up time” just slightly up from instant start.

@@DJLiftOFF It''s the best way. Nothing against the software. But if you know how the music you play is constructed and you have a solid understanding of how mixing works. Then anything you do after that will be so much easier. Too many people buy loads of expensive hardware and have no clue what to do with it and think that the software can solve it all.

Without controller this soft is shit. Try Traktor Pro last version, jaw dropping software. I always said this, The best controllers under the sun is Pioneer, but the best Dj software is Traktor pro. No offence Serato, but you have alot to learn and implement. The funny thing is, Traktor has the best software and the worst Dj controller. Shame really. Before you start writing angry replays i will tell you this. I been Dj since 1989 year, long before some "pro" dj's were even born, i know what im talking about. It's easy these days. Any 13 year old can be a "pro" DJ. With this technique that is on the market. Rarely are those who use their ear and musical gift if they have it. Back in the day, if you didn't have talent and an ear, you didn't become a DJ. Today, any 13-year-old can become one.
