Such a beast of a mixer. Finally buying mine this week and I can’t WAIT to lose myself in learning how to use it.

I'm still holding onto my money until the Xone:96 comes out, especially because it comes with a stock Innofader! Mojaxx, you definitely gotta do a review on that mixer once you've had some time with it!

Great review. This is a beast of a mixer. I love the feel of the s9 but this thing is next level

This is an old comment, but then along came the DJM-S11 to blow the Rane 72 out of the water. Better touchscreen, 4 deck access, familiar layout just like the S9, and with just enough features to keep you interested, but not overwhelm you. I love my S11 but I have a feeling it's not going to be the king of the hill very long. Soon Pioneer will release a Serato DVS battle mixer with Stems access inborn on the hardware. BTW as a tech tip for anyone readying, you don't have to give up a pad mode to use Serato Stems with your S11. I midi mapped it to the hot cue pad user mode and it works great. I keep to keep my Slicer and Loop Roll pad modes easy!

I have to agree that the newer Rane mixers seems like the quality just isn't there. From the nobs to the fader itself. But I am comparing the 61,62 to the 56 and 57. And if you look up part numbers for the faders, the 57 fader is different from the 61 and 62. I had a Rane 61 and hated it, and I had the 56 and 57 in the past. Hopefully the 72 is made a but better, and the fader has a bit more sharper of a cut in it like the 57 did.
@jcue6 жыл бұрын
i hear you. 57 best fader i've ever touched. i would put inno-fader a close 2nd, then the s9 Magvel. thats my top 3!

Yeah the 57 fader is by far my favorite.

That’s because the 61 was garbage. The worst mixer rane ever made.

I'm new to my seventy two, had it since Dec 2019, but just now having the chance to spend some time on it. My issue is with the serato echo out efx. Once I engage the efx, the tempo is off in the headphones. What's playing in the headphones is ahead of the main output timing. Also when I return to the available deck the headphones are ahead of the main output's timing. I haven't had this problem with any controller. Any advice? Is this whet you're referring to with the post-fader flaw?

Dope review! can you loop external audio through the mic inputs? like if I say something can I loop it and manipulate it with the pads?
@richardwilliams13105 жыл бұрын
No send and returns but could you cheat using one of the outputs or session in and/or the switchable mic/line inputs? Haven't seen anyone demo those features yet, using a drum machine or bass synth or looper/sampler could be cool if it works

After using this mixer for a couple of months, the X-Fader seemed to get “stiffer” over time. I loosened the screw completely and the fader still felt “heavy”. Ultimately, I swapped one of the up faders to resolve the issue. Still not real happy about doing it because now, 1 of my up faders feels “funny”. It’s feels as if the rails are “dry” b.u.t. I’ve been told not to oil them. It’s only a big deal if you’re into scratching (which I am) and very frustrating to drop $2000.00 on a mixer that is otherwise great in every aspect.

I don't use Serato but this is a small very interesting mixer. I sometimes forget that there is also a lot of great stuff beside the Pioneer equipment. Btw...thanks for the good videos. You guys make a great job.

I find the possibilities on the 72 way to overwhelming from a first impression standpoint. The new 70 seems to be shrunken down at the right places. Somehow the Reloop Elite speaks more to me. What do you guys think?!

Kinda disappointed for getting this and try to replace my NS7-2 it just doesn’t have the functionality of the cue options of the NS7-2. Hitting that cue point on the fly to make it loop at the same time is a big deal Rane needs to fix this or can you tell me if there’s a hot key in the keyboard to do this?

The 72 doesnt need returns. Between the DJ software efx and on board mixer efx you dont need external processing. Why are you complicating djing?

The S9 has a great layout but the builtin sound card sounds like crap compared to the DJM900 NXS2! In fact it's sound output is absolute garbage. This however won't be noticed for people connecting the DJM-S9 to there richer sounds Hi-Fi setup! Who remembers the DJM-600? it sounds like that! I don't understand the reason behind putting a crap SC in a otherwise great battle mixer?
