I have the S10.4 had it for about 4 months now and love it .it’s a great addition to my studio been wanting to add a sud for some time now but wanted to wait for a new version so as soon as this went up for sale i didn’t hesitate .

really appreciate your notes at the end regarding proper use cases, room treatment, etc. a sub is a great thing to have a lot of times but there are definitely cases where they complicate things.

Love the review, I ended up buying the 12.4 for my home studio and OH MAN I MAY HAVE MADE A MISTAKE! Only time will tell though.

It’s super important to have the volume low on this bad boy! I leave mine at about 20% and play my monitors comfortably loud and it’s bliss! Any more than 20% and it’s waaaaayyyy too much for me personally. But that’s the great thing about it is, you can get as much as you need!

Very nice review...So I have the Krk rokit 5, I assume I should go with the 8.4 subwoofer? Also, my "studio" is in the living room of my apartment, so I have ton of room behind me, like 18 19ft...what would you recommend good sir?

Go with 10.4 used good balanced cables (neutrik xlr)

@@alotlater1905 the 8.4 is more than enough trust me...that thing is unreal, and I tried some other brands subwoofers, the Krks are the real deal

so did you went with the s10.4? or s8.4? i bought the s10/4 with the rokit 5 and ofcourse allways when you bought it, you find the remark "is it too big? " what is you experience vik? or anyonre? cant go wrong with the s10.4 and krk 5 monitors?

Thanks for the video! I chose the 10.4 sub, but I’m concerned about the sound quality it sends to my mains. My setup has the sound card connected to the KRK sub, which then sends a low-cut signal to the mains. How good is the KRK’s AD-DA circuitry for this? I’m worried it might degrade the signal quality and detail. Any thoughts?

I have the new S12.4 sub. What size KRK monitors do you recommend pairing with it, and what crossover setting would you recommend for the S12.4 with those monitors? I currently have the G3 Rokit 5 monitors, but it sounds like the G4 monitors are a pretty significant improvement. I just don’t know which size would pair well with the S12.4. I mostly compose trance/happy hardcore music and will be using these for mixing/recording, but also for fun rocking out (loudly) with my two synthesizers.

I have the S12.4 with Rokit 7 G4. Good pairing. I btw upgrading to V6 S4

Does the 10.4 sub reduce the range on the output signals to my rokit 8s. Idk why i feel like they hit harder when I had no sub now feels like th3 sub stole some of the mid range out of my monitors. Could just be me but I wonder if anyone can confirm that it does that.

Hi, great review. I had a question re the crossover point. I have KRK 7” monitors and wanted to know that they would work with the crossover. I think looking at specs they will but just want to be sure. Thanks. And if they do and the monitor speakers go lower than 90, should I still put the crossover at the full 90 because that just helps the monitors on the high-end more? Thanks a lot Phil

@@lms5608 I went with the 10 and jesus it packs a punch. It's almost too much, I used it for a small coffee house gig and only had it on it's lowest bass setting as it was too much for the monitors any higher, they were pretty drowned out by the bass.

I want to match the krk classic 7 monitors with the 12.4 because i am afraid that 10.4 is not enough

i would say go for the s12 cuz i got 7s with a s10 and sure its hella good bass but under the note D at sub bass note level it does kinda drop off
