I'll never forget the first time I heard this song. I was very very young on a vacation with my family.. We were on our way to Disneyland. We were in a cab over camper. There were 5 of us my parents in the truck with our father driving our Mother in the passenger seat while my brother & sister on the top looking out the window. Going down hwy 99 all 3 of us children would wave at all the cars passing us. Singing to UNDERCOVER ANGEL waving & singing loudly. A lot of people going the other way were waving. My parents had no idea why all these people kept waving.. I recorded on a REAL cassette recorder from a transistor radio UNDERCOVER ANGEL. We played it over & over. My parents while my brother, sister and I were singing very loudly, waving at everyone. Our Dad yelled "WHAT ARE YOU 3 UP TO""? Long - short he then knew we "us children" were waving & having the orher people wave back not knowing at the time it was us. They laughed so hard. Then when we kept waving my parents continued waving back as well. OMGSH! SUCH AMAZING MEMORIES.. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS SONG IN THIS PLAYLIST..

I first heard this as a "Rate-a-Record" on "American Bandstand". They gave it a high rating. Couple of weeks later it debuted on Casey Kasem's "American Top 40" at #40. Went right out and bought that single. It goes to #1 technically on the 4th of July, 1977.

@t40onbass2 жыл бұрын
"Last Train to Clarksville" by The Monkees was the first Colgems label release. Ir went to #1 November, 1966. "Monster Mash" by Bobby "Boris" Pickett hit #1 in 1962 and was the first Garpax label offering. In 1959 The Fleetwoods went to #1 with "Come Softly to Me", the first and only release on the Dolphin label. It was changed to Dolton thereafter. 1960 "Alley Oop" was the first and only #1 chart appearance for the group Hollywood Argyles and the Lute label they recorded for.
