@@TheBrooklynbodine In his 1989 Live at Wimbley concert, Luther mentions it and even sings a bit of the chorus with one of his backup singers (who also sang backing vocals on the Young Americans album). It's around the 28 minute mark in the concert, and you can find it on YT.

Only DJ CAT could make this song sound better in a remix. The master by which others are measured. You've helped my producing better anyone by emphasizing tracks I've heard in the background and but them upfront. Makes you understand how amazing the production was.

I remember John Perrone whose username was "mosogotam," improved many hit songs recorded by Motown, Atlantic, Stax, Philadelphia International, and some other record labels. He did wonderful work, too, until he died on April 5, 2021 of coronavirus. DJDiscoCat also takes up where mosogotam left off.

Outstanding remix!!! It wasn't until I read your notes that I realized why I liked this so much and it's because you do peel back the layers and let us hear the magnificent work done by all who worked on the original recording of this, as well as your outstanding rework on it. It. I'm especially glad that the signature and epic drum fill in the middle was left intact, although that would be interesting to hear deconstructed as well. Thank you for sharing this and your knowledge. You mentioned that John Lennon worked with him on this. I can only think that is why the line by the backup singers "I heard the news today. Oh boy" was included. There's only one way to listen to this song and that's at 11

This song is my second favorite David Bowie song. The first song was "Rebel, Rebel." DJDiscoCat extended this version right to proper playing time. Also, I regret to admit that David Bowie has died, and his absence dampens my spirit to the core.

This edition is more of a long-playing for easier and longer listening or dancing, rather than merely a disco song. Also, adult contemporary radio stations can play this song on the air. It would their listening audiences lots of good.

I love your remixes, but in my opinion this is one of (the very rare) songs that are best left somewhat near the original length as i feel the pause after "I heard the news today, oh boy" takes away from the fantastic editing on the song and make it feel drawn out longer

David inspired me to craft my musical and singing career... as a young Mexican kid, I loved the otherworldly aspects of his approach. I wanted to sound nothing to what was expected of me, and David said it was cool to experiment, which I did! I owe a debt of gratitude to him, as I still work in music.

David Bowie, in a way, was the Velvet Underground of the 70's, insofar as he anticipated (albeit unwittingly) so many future musical trends and influenced SO MANY future artists. And please - let's not forget that, as has been true throughout the entire history of Pop music - that it was drawn from/inspired by Black music and culture...

I used the original version. The LP version fades out before the end of the music track, as is usually the case, but I got my paws on the original music tracks and I was able to let you hear how the recorded song actually ended.

That is the reason the singers and musicians need not to be present with you during the remastering and mixing operations. You do not have "paws."
