Beautiful 😍 Neuchâtel has been sitting in my bucket list so far. As a history buff, I find it interesting that Neuchâtel was once claimed by Prussia and almost caused a European diplomatic crisis in 1856-1857

I am in the USA. My 4 times great grandfather migrated from here. I can't imagine why he left such a beautiful place. Thank you for the tour. His name was Felix Maurer.

Hi. Back then Switzerland was very poor and the USA offered anyone a career. Switzerland only became rich after WW 2 during the times of the deutsches Wirtschaftswunder.

I love how Switzerland packs the punch of many countries in one. Like, here it feels like Southern France, Schaffhausen feels more like Bavaria in Germany, and then Lugano feels like a cleaner version of Italy.

Hi bro, I lived in Neuch for more than 10 years, now live in the canton in a small village. The railway station is far from the city center????? Max 5 mins of comfortable walk, actually it IS in the center. With the funiculaire it is 2 mins.

Hi. Thank you for your comment. I agree with you. It was not far for me. But 800m walking distance to some visitors, especially elders or families with kids can mean its not really close. I agree with you that the train station is in the city centre, just its not right at the old city's heart. From a visitor's perspective, the 5-10 minutes walk may take about 15 minutes as they keep looking at buildings and the lake etc. By the way, besides Le Landeron and Valangin, can you recommend any village to visit for filming?

J'adore Neuchatel!!! If you get the chance, visit the Creux du Van, an amazing natural rocky amphitheatre, with lots of sentiers for hiking. Also, nearby is Le Locle with its watchmaking history, and the wonderful Giant Toboggan run (gorgeous mountain views).
