Djeneba Sako, Magatte Fall, Bassidi Kone, and Fode Bangoura at Camp Fareta 2016

Three master drummers -- Magatte Fall, Bassidi Kone, and Fode Bangoura -- take turns on lead djembe when Djeneba Sako dances at the dundunba at Camp Fareta 2016. First Magatte and then Fode, and then Bassidi can't help but jump in. Djeneba dances like she's on fire. Fode takes it back, gives the last word and then tries to strut off but gets pulled back by Bolokada Conde and Wadaba Kourouma. Also drumming are Babara Bangoura and Boka Kouyate.

Over 20 years ago I watched Fode and Fara brashly upstage the master drummer Dame from KanKoran festival..and I remember Dames students were furious..and like a djembe angel Kissimma Diabate danced onto the floor with djembe ripping a portal into time and space..and Fode recognized his error and retreated...so it's interesting to watch another humble spirit in Bassidi also make a powerful space... beautiful ❤️

@LET'S buiLD it Bamana culture the spirit of the djembe female. And it's been said she is jealous and only wants men to play her. I have noticed some women that play djembe have gone sterile. But hey....
