I see it's a few people in this comment section who know what time it is. The rest don't know anything about real House Music. This version of Bad Boy is the original version that Jamie made in his bedroom in 1982. This version is still sought after still today and was never released on vinyl until a few years ago to very limited copies around 500. The version played on WBMX released in 1986 was not the original and didn't sound anywhere close to it and all the Chicago dj's was not happy. I was blessed to get a copie of both 12"s with Bad Boy & Baby Wants To Ride and the second 12" with Your Love & Waiting On My Angel all the original versions.

Right, but you have some people that do not realise that House is a rebirth of Disco, just like 80's music. Italo Disco is a big influence piece for House music
@thereal0017 жыл бұрын
House was NEVER a rebirth of disco! Many house songs are really soul songs re-sampled... kids took the old and made it new again! Urban kids didn't hang out at the disco... we had house parties.... thanks to Frankie Knuckles the club came afterwards.... hence the warehouse!! And the Powerplant!!
@djbonk777 жыл бұрын
It had to be at at least influence by it. Four on floor, the bass lines Everything about this song is Disco to me, just in a electronic way. That's all

I can only try to imagine how the box went nuts to an original and then again after Ron's treatment. I had London and Ibiza in the 80s

Heard this in a Mike Dunn Boiler Room mix and have been trying to ID it for years. I remember humming it to him at some club night in London trying to work out what it was.... I always had the idea the vocal was Mark Almond , yeah i know, so I was yeah yeah hum hum come please Mike you played this blah blah.... he was off but a kind guy to listen.... and without a shadow one of the finest house djs you will ever hear play. All solved now, thanks very much for posting this

There was a 1985 Ron Hardy mix (someone took it down, but I got it) that had this, and an early, brittle, funereal version of Fingers, Inc - Mysteries of Love, that was totally different from the 1986 or 1988 versions. Someone out there probably has it.

Born and raised in Chicago, Southside. With all the Diddy coverage, I never made the connection to this song, Diddy heard this and named his record label Bad Boy! And clearly been living a bad boy life he always told us predators always tell you exactly what they're up to just not directly kind of like Trump.Just something to think about 🤔
@j.c.978410 ай бұрын
This had nothing to do with bad boy aka Diddy. Jamie Principle and Frankie Knuckles were not pedophiles. None of us old school people were into sex traffic and being weirdos. We were weird but not fucking kids or into sex traffic. Yall are weird. Leave us out of that.
