Thank you so much for this..right off the bat I'd copies someone elses settings from another video... could have been a disasterous mistake. I hadn't tried the video with my editor (davinvi resolve) - and guess what, after watching this I found that it didnt recognise the top setting, so filmed at the second one, and it immediately recognised the file format.Thank YOU!!! I'd have filmed my whole holiday and then struggled to edit it without that awesome bit of advice. Also, thank you for the frame rate explaination. Did not realise that if I filmed indoors at night with a light bulb going, that the fps wouldn't have matched either! (I am in the UK) Lifesaver video. perfectly spoken for newbies and 'dummies' like me! THANK YOU!!!

I use the SanDisk MicroSDXC Extreme Pro 128GB 200mb/s. Seems to work fine with the DJI action 4.

Just set sharpness minus 2 and NR minus 1 , Dlog, and that's it, you have the best image. Bonus, go manual iso/shutter speed and expose before each shot.

Hey there! Thanks for the video and the setting explanations! However I don't know to to fix an issue I'm experiencing... My Osmo Action 4 won't let me change the codec from HEVC to H.264 In other words, I see the option in the camera, but won't let me click on it. How can I resolve this?

My personal tip: Use HEVC for video compression and batch convert the files later with vlc media player. Works really well and minimized storage usage while keeping good quality

Any tips for getting the dji to focus on smaller objects? I bought one specifically for filming things like coins etc. for metal detecting and no matter what we try, it just won't focus.

That is a great a question, unfortunately the camera has a min focus distance of 40cm. which is no good for close up as you know. As a work around and its something that you will have to weigh up if it works for you or not is to put a pair of reading classes or magnifier in front of the camera lens and moving it forward and backwards will focus the closer object. Whether this is something that could work in your situation is something you will need to try. It may not be practical.

Setting the frarate to 25fps has even in Europa disadvantages: Most of the computer displays have a refresh rate of 60 fps. If you film one, it will also flicker in a 50Hz country and if you display your 25fps video in it, the framerate will be converted unevenly to 60fps which adds stutter. Also all battery driven LED light sources (even cars) do not adhere to the household frequencies, so 30/60fps can even be a better choice in Europe to prevent the framerate conversion on standard 60Hz displays.

quick last question If I may! I just finished my bike ride, and went to check my footage, I noticed it split my recording to two separate video clips, one 20min and a 4min one. Why did that happen?! Could it have overheated or?! It wasn't hot, around 62.6f, and I was riding against the wind. I'm worried :( I plan on taking it to Greece soon, I don't want it to fail on me or split my videos like this

No this is normal. The older Dji Action Cameras used to break the files down into 5 minute clips, but they have up'd this to 20minutes. You wont have lost any footage and the clips will join together seamlessly. Also this has nothign to do with overheating 🙂

You can record 25 fps normal videos. When you need slow motion you can set 4k 120fps because every cinema have max 25 fps
