DJI Action 5 Pro vs Action 4 & Insta360 Go3s: Footage Comparison

Great work brotha! Super helpful! I am still shooting on a GoPro 9 so I figure is past due for an upgrade. Just ordered the Pro 5 for fishing just due to the low light. I just wish they would give us 1" sensor as I am sure the 6 will have it but....I can no longer shoot on the Hero 9, its full retro looking lol. Cheers.

@@HillPhantom the nine was probably the worst GoPro ha. I’m very curious about the new ace pro . I’m looking at some of the special features right now like slow Mo and camera that’s new and the tracking and I’m finding some strange stuff so it should be a good video to put together. What I can say is it looks better to do the slow mo yourself in post versus letting the camera do it in the camera, but I get what they’re trying to do.

I thought that C (Action 5) was much the best. What really surprised me was that A (Insta360 Go3s) was considerably better than the Action 4. B was the worst.

The little Go3 is not bad, but you can clearly see that the Action 5 is on top. And I do think Dji will just improve the Action 5 with updates. Excellent test Scott 👍

Get my DJI Action today. Already out and run 30 miles today/evening. Dark forest and Rockstedy with headtorch was not god. Hope on a Firmware update from DJI after give they my film. No Ultrarunner gona use it on a race. Everything jump like crazy like on a cartoon movie. Stand still work on Regulare and Super night mode but not moving around.

Thank you very much for your video. Helped me a little bit but I'm still undecided on what camera to get. I'd have hoped there'd be a price drop for the Action 4 with the release of the Action 5 Pro but that didn't happen. I think the Action 5 is gonna get improved with updates still as they did the same thing with the 4. Well I don't really have time to get a new toy for the next three weeks but after that I'll make up my mind but your video already helped a bit.

I preferred the Action 4 in most scenes. The only issue was the white balance in the woods being a bit too warm. I really hate the HDR look of the 5 and would almost put the Insta in second place because of that. I’m very curious what the Ace Pro 2 will be like. I have a feeling it’s going to beat all of these.

@@mccgre51 I agree on most fronts. I am just starting to use the camera the way I use it via dlog and adding a LUT. That should remove the HDR look…. Still playing with it. The Ace Pro could take the title this year.

Do you know if the Action 5 requires your phones Wifi, Bluetooth, and Location to be turned on in order to use the camera? I have the Go3 and it requires everything to be turned on.

@@DenverTI no. However you need to activate it via your phone first time you use it. What I don’t like is DJI wants access to ALL of your photos to be able to send footage from your camera to your phone. Boo

I love the skies & clouds in A4. But inside the forest the color is not accurate. I think I will get the A5P. I can satirate the sky scenes like the A4 later in Post, I think.

In night mode, I love the A4 again, because it's giving a natural vibe. A5P is looking washed out. 13:33

14:58 set shutter at 1/100, it will give less jitters, after night mode on, A5P footage looks usable. 14:58

@@ScottsReviews i believe you. Personaly I dont like much. I have GP Hero 8 and 11, and Action 2. I was on the edge to buy OA5 Pro, but now Im not so sure, especialy when I saw that 5 pro has lower bit rate than OA3 and 4. Most of reviews that Is out to day Is sponsored, so they do not highlighting things that not so good.

@@ScottsReviews Osmo 5 has more compression due to a lower bit rate, so is more messed with. the better dark performance is just that its brighter, can do that in post on the 4

I’m looking for a small action camera, not for action, but for mall walking tours, city walks and walks at night in the city lights. I was about looking to buy the ace pro but then this action 5 dropped. Do you think the action 5 is a good option for evening and night walking videos? And mall walking? And does the action 5 have jittery effect in low light with artificial lights? The Go3S seems really impressive. I’ve actually seen some mall walks with the Go3S and the anti-jitter feature seems to offset the jello jitter I see on my GoPro which I only trust in bright daylight. And the pendant makes it very low profile for filming POV walks. Any thoughts on Go3S vs Ace Pro vs Action 5 for walking tours in lower light or artificial light? PS: I just watched your video several times over, and I’m actually really impressed with how little jitter I see in the Go3S , even though it’s darker I think the actual lights don’t look as muddy and jittery as the other cameras. The action five definitely looks impressive in lower light settings, but at the cost of being very sharp and a bit jittery. What do you think? For night, did you have anti jitter on the go3s?

@@babyboy1971 if you want stable footage indoors the best option is the DJI. Pocket 3. Hands down. All of theses actions cameras will have light jitters. Thanks
