DJI Action 5 PRO vs DJI Action 4: Is There a Big Difference?

I think the HDR of the Action 5 was the game changer. The Action 4 was blown out due to the sun but I do agree the color on the action 4 looks like you can play with it more.

The dynamic range of OA5 is really amazing, but the colors in daylight is not that good since it's too saturated.

I still miss Action 3 from when I had it, it is an amazing camera. About colors, I do like the colors of Action 4 better than Action 5, but Action 5 have way better dynamic range that you can see in the highlights.

I like the colors of the DJI osmo 4 better. Glad to know that I do not want to upgrade now since I got it earlier this year. A firmware update may correct the oversaturation on the 5 Pro.

Osmo Action 4 is just amazing and have been my favorite action camera all time and it still is. I also hope and think they will adjust it in a firmware update.

Yeah, I like Action 4 colors more. Action5 seems to have better HDR but the colors are too saturated to my liking. Especially the sky and clouds do not look good on Action 5. I think it's better to color grade it in post.

I agree with you, OA4 have normal colors and OA5 is too saturated indeed. I have done many color tests and they need to fix it.

They do, but OA5 have great dynamic range for the highlights and also really good in low light with no to little noise in shadow areas.

You will not have any overheating issues as long as you are outdoors and not just leave it in direct sunlight for a longer period of time.

What FPS and shutterspeed on action 4?

Both shot at 60 fps and shutterspeed 1/200 - 1/8000 in Auto

Action 4 actually. But if you need it to perform good in low light also then Action 5. But for now Action 4 is the one I would choose for the price.

Both cameras have their strong moments, but the saturation of the Osmo action 5 pro is too high.

Wow the 5 has a lot more range in one scene on the 4 the speedometer is completely blurred and the sky lost all color

I see no reason to upgrade from my OA4 just yet.. plus reading the forums the OA5P has other issues yet to be resolved. Shame that so much of this video was shot into the sun.

I do agree with you since Action 5 for now doesn't seem to be a upgrade from Action 4, and almost a downgrade regarding some of its issues. Action 4 is just an amazing camera, but still have big hope for Action 5 in a new firmware.
