Hi ian, HLG = Hybrid Log Gamma. x264 v x265 - the difference is a smaller file size using x256 and is Easier for a PC/laptop because of that, and not more 'difficult' as you suggest. And both use 10bit if in D-Log or HLG. Great informative vids as always, and thanks for posting.

Great idea for setting exposure. If the app showed that the exposure was locked or not it would be better. I can't understand why they would have removed that from the screen. (Edit) I've just tried it on the MA2 and auto setting is not available in pro mode :-(
@matthewdray832 жыл бұрын
Whilst the white balance allows warm or cool the general tone, the function is really to correct different light conditions on the sensor and to ensure white is white and not pink or mauve. Personally I would like to see DJI mirror the standard settings you would find in any DSLR. sunlight,cloudy etc. Probably the biggest game changer would be variable aperture enabling the standard camera modes like AP and SP. To a get a well balanced exposure even on a DSLR needs grads when there is more dynamic range in the shot than the sensor can handle. The best thing to know how to use is the histogram, make your settings based on what that is telling you
@IaninLondon2 жыл бұрын
This is very true, although I do like the flexibility that having a slider scale gives you rather than preset cloudy / sun / inside light etc. You'll need the Mavic 3 or 2 Pro for variable aperture! :) Cheers, Ian

I have the Air 2 (No S) and unfortunately there is no Auto possibility for Shutter speed and ISO in Pro mode. I got my hopes up for a second. I really miss this feature from the Air 1 and the Go 4 app. Other than that, keep up the good work!
@IaninLondon2 жыл бұрын
That's surprising and a real shame. I knew it wasn't there in the Mini 2 but thought it would be there for the Air 2. 👍🏻
@joningall2 жыл бұрын
It’s worse than that, on the Air 2 in Pro Photo mode the shutter speed (on mine anyway) is locked at 1/6400 and its not possible to change the ISO which is stuck at 100. I’ve been in touch with DJI and they dont seem to have a fix for this at moment. Video mode seems to work fine.
@joningall2 жыл бұрын
@Barry Fairbrother No. in fact in 48Mp mode everything works fine but in single or bracketing modes the ISO is locked at 100 and has a small A next to it and the shutter speed stuck at 1/6400. I’m still going back and forth with support but nothing has solved the problem yet.
@joningall2 жыл бұрын
@Barry Fairbrother I think I’ve solved the problem with the help of DJI support. At the bottom of the camera menu it says “Reset Camera Settings”. I clicked on this and everything seems to have returned to normal again.

You can gain another viewer by including your dogs in future videos. My Rat Terrier perked up and watched when Ted and Molly popped up on the screen. She gave a 👍 as well. Nice change on allowing ISO and shutter speed to be AUTO or manual independently of one another. I use this type of setting on my video camera where I set the aperture and shutter speed to manual and and let the ISO vary automatically within a predefined range.

Should the older version be uninstalled first, with all DJI files and folders being deleted, or is it okay to just install over the older version, as was done when the app was coming from the Google Play Store. If the video is in auto mode with 4k wide, 30fmp, and EV=0 then is the camera automatically adjusting shutter speed or ISO to maintain the EV=0 value? If ISO, how would I know what the shutter speed is? If, shutter speed, what would the ISO be and what about the 180 rule that shutter speed should be twice the frame rate? Either way, would I even need an ND filter if in auto mode? I'm so confused!
