I'm still looking to buy my first drone. Stupid question maybe, but does the zoom actually have an option of zooming in with the camera or does any drone have that option? My brother has the dj air 2 and said he can't zoom in while it's in flight.

not a stupid question. indeed the Mavic zoom has a real optical and digital zoom. not only that it can pull tricks like the Hitchcock effect. the dolly zoom. so I think you can go for it. I loved the Mavic air 2 but too be honest it pushed with more ad hype and the company, of course, want to push a new product. The Mavic Air 2 does have software excellence but if you are not bothered with the size over functionality then go for the zoom.

@@MominNz one more question. Is the Pro and the zoom the same? I only see the pro on amazon UK but the zoom in the states. Just wondering if they are the same machine, but just different regions. And is the zoom actually any good?

They are two different products altogether the zoom in the pro have different functions to Pro has got a better camera but the zoom has got the Zoom functionality so if you are looking for the zoom feature then you should go for the Mavic zoom

Prole is much easier to find then I was doing my search to buy the drone at that time I found that it was much easier to find a pro version and lots of people were selling the pro but it was hard to find a Zoom so I had to buy a brand-new one

That’s what I’m saying he said negative stuff about the Air 2 but said he never flew it, I think it all comes down to what u want DJI really shook things up putting the upgraded OCCUSYNC in the Air 2 a better Camera in the A2 it’s really Preference, I still like to Fly my Phantom 3 Pro and I’m looking to get a Phantom 4,

I would disagree as i don’t mean to downplay the Air2. If you watch my full video what I’ve clearly explained is that if your buying a new drone then Air 2 is the next option but its not worth the upgrade from a pro or zoom

Your review is neutral and correct. I tested today both drones and came to same result. No différence in range both go over 5km without Problems. Active track was even better at the Mavic 2 zoom (more intelligent) because of the Sensors. When i stopped walking and turned around the zoom did it also but my air 2 just flew Backwards because i doesn't have enough sensor to see enough to turn around 180 degrees. The zoom is still the better drone when you already have it, and you can't speak about upgrading. Apas 3 is only better when you give enough sensors to the drone! Great review.

If someone already own mavic 2 zoom, there is no point upgrading to mavic 2 air as zoom and pro have more manual control options for the camera and in real life, the video result is nearly the same and if not, you can use editing :p Just don't get confused with megapixel numbers 😉

Yes, this confused the heck out of me and I literally just lifted the lid off of the Air 2 when I heard that and my jaw dropped. Quick google started my heart again, that said, I am going right now to pickup the last Zoom 2 left. One other thing to note, with the Air 2 you can get the fly more combo. Pro and Zoom require an additional purchase

I own and fly both. They are very close functionally but for some undefinable reason when I put the Zoom up, I feel much more comfortable it will come back to me. It's bigger, more solid and has better software. I also like the optical zoom as I can put the bird up high to avoid trees and powerlines, and still zoom in close with less overall risk. Camera wise, I can't see a difference but I am a hobby flyer and not primarily a camera buff. But videos shot with both are far better than I need for hobbyist purposes (I only use 1080p to keep files smaller) I do like the system on a the Air where it warns of close planes . This should be on all drones for safety reasons. Since I only fly in rural areas, it's useful only for float planes (most of which don't have the transmitter in spite of the law) and for low flying helicopters. It's a close decision as to which to buy. So I bought both....ha ! But if budget is a concern (and when isn't it), the new Air2 might be the way to go.

Peter Lai you can get 48mp on the mavic 2 zoom with superres, the picture will be better than the air 2’s 48mp because it only splits each pixel in 4

The point is you don’t have to buy these 2 drones to make a fair comparison.If the price point is not an issue,buying the Mavic 2 over the Mavic Air 2 is a no brainer.The Mavic 2 has a more practical remote and is overall much better than the Air2 remote.He is not the only youtuber saying this,but most people agree! And more than that,the price point for this drones is telling more than some youtubers want to tell you.So if you already bought the Air2 and you had the oportunity to buy the Mavic2 than sorry to dissapoint you,because what you bought is just a 4 minutes of flight time more.And for most youtubers: owning the Mavic 2 and using the term “upgrade” from Mavic 2 to Air 2 is completely wrong term to use.Mavic 2 belongs to higher-end drone and the Mavic Air 2 is just the cheaper version with minor and useless upgrades for most drone users.Still ,if you come from the Mavic Air or Spark,yes then better go for the Air 2,considering the price range only.

Sideways sensors only work in certain modes not constantly, in that way it is almost like you don't have sideways sensors.

Hi Momin. Thanks for the video. Really enjoy the non-fanboy stance on the Air2. Recently got a mini and want to upgrade. Wind and sensors are big drivers for the decision, so 2Pro is in the lead. The biggest reason not to go there is the M3Pro which is obviously coming. So maybe I buy the Air2 and wait for the 3Pro? :-)

In the video there is no any comparison with footage example regarding that air 2 can shoot 4k/60fps. Which is quiet important, no?

Nikita Zhuykov no,its not very important.More frames per seconds are used for action shooting,but most of us are using cinematic shooting at 24 fps,so 30fps are more than enough.The Mavic 2 is by far the winner

@@cipri198zero nice rxcept one thing. Did you ever seen how cinematic it will be to shoot in 60fps and than make it 30fps. Nice smooth move of the frame and of the action on that frame. At least almost everyone shoot cars, seem ocean or some walks of people. No?

Thanks for the review. Only thing I'd add is ADBS with software update isn't possible to Mavic2's. ADBS needs a 1090MHZ receiver and I don't believe mavic 2 have a software defined radio to add it later.

Which I love the Mavic 2 zoom are the control and the side sensors and of course the camera, but my concern is a 2018 model. Will worth the money to buy ? Thanks for the question. Mavic Air 2 is an excellent option and almost all the bells and whistles. However if you need more control on your shots i.e dolly zoom or side detection while flying then Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic 2 pro isn't a great option.

Go for the Zoom! Its more safe to fly ,and more fun while you still get professional shooting.Ignore the 8K ,its useless,trust me,watch some HONEST videos about that 8K shooting ,has some major drawbacks! Same with the 48Mp gimmic.Plus with the Zoom you don’t have to go too close to dangerous points of interest,stop where you feel safe and just zoom in without losing image quality.I almost fell for the Air2 but after looking some honest reviews I was dissapointed.What I know for sure is that Zoom is a MUCH MORE safe to fly drone,even for begginers is the best option ( if the price is not upsetting ) I own it for one and a half years and even when I was a bit clumsy,this drone never failed me.Its pretty hard to crash or lose it.Just be carefull when you fly especially sideways,don’t use too much speed if you have thin tree branches or power lines as the side sensors are weaker or they turn off in some of the flight modes.Anyway its valid for all drones: always plan your flights,be aware of the surroundings,calibrate,check your baterries and keep it in your sight; this way you will have 0 crashes.I love my Zoom,its perfect for travelling and great for amateurs and also for professional videos.

I can understand now why you got more dislikes than the likes after watching the video. First of all, if you are going to make a video about review a comparison of two drones then you need to have both drones with you, not holding one on your hand while the other one is missing. For actually comparison, you need to have the experience with the Mavic Air 2. You basically makes a judgement just base on the informations that DJI has put on Mavic Air 2. I have been waiting for someone to do comparison between 2 Zoom and Air 2, when I first saw the thumbnail I was excited but as soon as I find out that you just review product from the source not personal experience it kinda disappointed. No I am not your hater as I have never come across your KZbin channel before and I'm also own Mavic 2 Zoom. P.s swearing at one of your audience isn't going to get you far

Makes sense. Same here I wanted someone to make a direct comparison of the zoom and the air 2 and the videos I found which have been accepted enormously have no physical drones. As you mentioned you own one so you have the direct experience of actually and virtually giving your thoughts. That’s what I’ve done. Regarding to my channel not getting far enough. This is just my past time from getting away from work and not at all thinking to grow and get money as most you tubers are desperate to do. My job is far away from what this time waste hobby is but need to do something which is polar opposite. So to explain the fact I’m not at bothered if my channel gets views or not. But I appreciate your reply and lastly KZbin like any other social media is a total bitch and people are terrible and demoralising - not saying you’re one of them but need to be a bit harsh in replies.
