Some points I want to add. You don’t want to quickly cool the batteries by blowing cold air from an air conditioner, placed in refrigerator for short amount of time, etc.. Doing this can cause condensation and damage from a fast temperature change. You should also avoid flying to low battery. As the voltage gets lower the battery has to increase current which just increases wear and temperature.

A little late with my comment… but I recently saw a comment that you shouldn’t store your battery in the drone when not in use. I believe the person said it won’t auto discharge or something. Is there any accuracy to this?
@DroneFate2 жыл бұрын
Well it does discharge after around 8/9 days to 60% if they’ve not been used & just kept at 100% but not something i’s recommend

Hi! I just recently bought my new DJI Air 2s. As for my batteries, I'm just curious why my battery is only at 4.10v something when fully charged and also the rest of my batteries, isn't it supposed to be at 4.20v because it's still new? And I only have 2 cycles.
@DroneFate2 жыл бұрын
It depends as it changes when it’s operational or just still as well as the outside temperature
@keanhls2 жыл бұрын
@@DroneFate Wait, I'm kind of confused. So you're telling me that my battery voltage would still change? Actually, I already depleted 3 of my new batteries down to 10% and when I got it all full charged again, 2 of them are 4.14V and the last one is only 4.17V max. Supposedly, it should be 4.25V when fully charged. And my battery cycles are only just 4 and the rest are 2. They are really fresh because I just purchased DJI AIR 2s FMC like 6 days ago. So I thought 3 of my batteries are defective.

now that we know about discharging the battery, what about charging them back up? Say for whatever reasons, we can't fly for a long time (rain, rain, rain; or illness) How often are we supposed to do that? Every month? Every 3 months? 6 months? May be you can do another video to help us. Thank you very much.
@jaycarl15622 жыл бұрын
Every 3 months charge to 100%, discharge to 25% within 24 hours, charge back up for storage to 60% within 48 hours. If your a hobbyist, its a good reason to fly.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dji "Smart" batteries auto discharge to ~60% in a matter of days.

Yes they do, i think it’s 8/9 if i’m not mistaken

Hi two of My Air 2S are slightly swollen(minor) , any suggestions / solutions
@DroneFate2 жыл бұрын
If it’s swollen, dispose them as they could get worse during a flight & cause damage to the drone; make sure to remove the battery after each flight & let it cool for around 10-15 mins in shade before putting it in the bag

Great advice, so many people seem intent on running the battery to zero, your approach is way more sensible, thanks. Do the dji batteries auto discharge to a safe level when stored like the parrot anafi ones do?
@DroneFate3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Air 2 & air 2s do auto discharge to 96% in 1 day, 60% if idle for 5 days, the mavic 2 has options for the pilot to do it

Can we turn off auto discharge on Air 2S?
@DroneFate3 жыл бұрын
For now no. It would auto discharge to 60% on 5 days and after a recent update it’s now 9 days

@Drone Fate Are you right? These battery must be in a drone? If this option is on (auto discharge) must I down voltage myself (powerbank)?

Just leave it in shade for about 15 mins, you don’t want extremely cold air cooling down something so hot right away
