Nice video, I dont think vertical photo support is needed. Just shoot 4:3 and crop. A firmware update will just crop the sensor anyway. If you use the grid lines and frame properly you’ll be fine.

The Air 3 is one of the best drones that I have owned. I also have the Mini 4 Pro and its a great drone as well but that great in windy conditions along the coast.

The 70mm camera is a game changer. I was seriously considering adding the Mavic 3 Pro to my drone "hanger" not for the 144mm camera, but for the 70mm one. The only thing holding me back was the price. I just could not justify that price for the drone and fly more kit as a serious hobbyist; at half the price the Air 3 is more than worth the amount paid. I also have to give DJI for adding many of the new features that appeared in the Mavic 3 Pro & Mini 4 Pro to the Air 3. This makes it an even greater value. Thank you for putting out this follow-up video on such a great piece of hardware.

My take on the current drone offerings ( if you're a photographer and/or videographer): For traveling, by all means, get the Mini 4 Pro. The Mini 3 Pro will also give great performance for a tighter budget. For average/hobby: The Air 3 is currently the mid-tear flagship. For yet a more professional demand: The Mavic 3 Pro is your dear friend, and if you're not in a hurry, wait for the Mavic 4 Pro, which will probably be an amazing drone, and an expensive one too..

Thanks so much for all your efforts in putting your videos together!! My concern about the AIR 3; nighttime flying!! Recently, while flying at night the AIR 3 was amazing not a problem!! The drone returned to home because of "low" battery! Upon replacing the battery the drone took off as normal then decided to head to the Gulf of New Mexico; 1500 miles away! Suggestion: a video on nighttime flying; Please!!

After Phantom 3 and Mavic 2 Pro I expected the Mini 4 Pro to be my perfect drone for longer&harder hikes in the mountains. I bought it 6 weeks ago and was very suprised. Camera&image quality, features, safety, everything is fanatastic, especially for such a small drone. But it struggles even with the slightest wind, it's by far the worst DJI drone I've ever seen in wind. I'm happy that the 14year old son of a friend will take my Mini 4 Pro and I'll wait for a Air 3S/Air 4, that will get along with the conditions were I need to fly...

How hard was it being a newbie? I'm also a newbie, & I bought the AIR 3 Fly More Combo, & Mini 4 Pro with RC 2 Controller, & Fly More+Battery kit. I haven't flown either yet, because of the weather. I do plan.on.buying the Care Refresh plans for both before flying either. I feel really intimidated, & think I might have bitten off, more than I can chew.

@@johnmajka5404 They are easy to operate, but I remember I was blown away when I saw in person how techy the Air 3 was. It did help though that I watched KZbin tutorial videos. One thing that got me though was I relied too heavily on obstacle avoidance. It is great, but at night , of course it doesn't work. I think you will do just fine!😄 Have fun flying>

There's no need for vertical photo support as the full sensor is read when capturing still images in 4:3... so if you want vertical photo, you just crop in post. For video it makes sense because the sensor isn't fully read when using the 16:9 ratio.

Having the Mavic 3 Pro and Air 3, I miss the 70mm whenever I fly the Mini 4 Pro, as great as it is, the 70mm on those 2 spoil all other drones, and having the 3-9x (Digital) zoom available in Waypoints, it's just a fantastic creative tool. It's the most flown drone I own!

I'm planning on picking one up during Amazon Prime Day. I don't know that it will be reduced but I can wait 3 days. 😉 I don't get why the vertical crop is bothering everyone so much. Vertical is for social media only and with the content usually being viewed on a phone "needing " 4k there doesn't truly seem like a priority. I do any crops on my software anyway so it's not really an issue when needed.

I only picked up the air 3 in december last year after Retiring my Mavic 2 pro!! Thanks for the great Air 3 review. I was considering the Mini 4 Pro. However, I need a drone for long distance recon in desert and various high terrains, and the 3x zoom will be a necessity. The Air 3 fills my needs, I’m sold. Waiting to see what the National Defense Authorization Act outcome will be for drones in the U.S. - this could be very bad for drone all users/owners.

I have brought this air3 and im a beginner flyer and i must say its so easy to use. As we llive on a large acreage i love capturing landscape, cattle, tractor work as well as checking fences, water troughs and pigs for hunting. Am wanting to ask about retrieving my videos on computer. I do however have a old laptop and finding that the play back is well non existent. What would i need to actually see what i video. Some guidance would help a lot. A link for nd filters would help as well. Btw i watch all your videos , keep up the good work. ❤

Lack of explorer mode so you can switch cameras whilst recording is for me the one thing that lets it down. Unless that comes with an update I will probably move on to a different drone.

With filters on...suppose you can only shoot one direction as the light changes as you change flight path? And settings on manual?... Do you need filters that differs vs top and bottom camera? Does not make sense to have the same filter attached for top and bottom camera.

I bought one last month and have no regrets... but it is worth mentioning one BOMBSHELL OF A CON is that you can't switch between the two cameras while recording. You have to stop recording, pull up the other camera, then resume the recording.

Overall - a good video, thank you. However one segment confuses me. At approx: 3:40 you are talking about optical focus/ and maybe zoom, but then the examples shown provide digital zoom examples. Care to clarify? Also when I look at the specs from DJI website, I see no mention of optical, only digital. Thanks.

you can get away with these but the D-log M is slightly different on both drones but you may just have to adjust the intensity more or less

I just bought a dji air 3 it is not as it advertises it is junk when it comes to distance, it is suppose to go 20km and i have also a evo 2 ver 3 that the distance it is advertise is less than the dji which is only 15 km. so that is why i bought the dji it was suppose to be better than my evo 2. well they are way off. my dji air lost total signal at 2.8 miles i thoght i lost the drone. after about 6 seconds it reconnected and i got it home. I took my evo out right after that and i was at 3.5 miles and no signal lost. I turned around and came back at that point. I just wanted to see about the DJI I bought because it was suppose to be better than my evo according to specs. I WISH I NEVER BOUGHT THE DJI. plus all the geo fencing nope . I don't know why anybody would buy one..

Your wish list especially variable aperture, I don't think that will come anytime soon, why would DJI undermine the Mavic series, doesn't seem to make sense. It's a great drone, well featured but I've got my mini 3 pro and dont' really want (or can) to spend another £1,300 for an incrementaly better but not that amount of money better drone.

I’m hopefully that any new Mavic series will be a full frame so a big difference from an air series - time will tell

After 3 week of air3 use I dont think 70mm is incredible. In low light conditions air3 footage is not upto the mark.
