Good review ordered mine today. Only just found your U-Tube channel and subscribed. I have been a member of FPV UK for the last 2 years.

Didn’t expect this video!

Looks great! just frustrating that the releases move so fast. Not long had the original Avata and Goggles 2!

Nice video. Makes me want to try the method of controller as I seem to get on well with mode four joystick (having grown up with model planes) Trouble now is there appears to be few if any drones using Mode 4 Joystick control. If that was your first flight it looked as if you got used to the method without problem. Thanks for the video.

Thank you! I really did get used to it super-quickly. It's very intuitive indeed.

So many questions. What is the weight and how do you apply the ‘line of sight’ rule?
@fpv-uk6 ай бұрын
Full details on dji-retail.co.uk/avata-2 Weight is 377g. The FPV rules are the same as ever. A competent observer is required (and under our Article 16 Operational Authorisation a single competent observer can be used for a group, when flying in a sterile area).

With FPV drones & line of sight you need someone else there with you, as a spotter.
@jpdronography16 ай бұрын
@@Steve_G7RTA Except there was no sign of a spotter in the video, and the cameraman would have been far too busy. Great shots of the drone NOT sporting its operator ID! 😉😉
@Steve_G7RTA6 ай бұрын
@@jpdronography1 of course we don’t know if the operator ID was slightly hidden.. like in the battery compartment for example. This would be allowed (not on the actual battery tho) as long as the OP ID can be accessed without the need for any tools (screwdriver etc)

Hi Simon, I'm curious about the noise level. Is it louder than the first avata?
@simondale96416 ай бұрын
It's pretty quiet. 81db apparently. I have never flown an original AVATA I'm afraid, so I can't comment on that.

Do you need a License to fly this in the UK?
@simondale96416 ай бұрын
No. There is no drone licence in the UK. You need to register with the CAA - this gives you an Operator ID. £11.13 p.a. You also need to do a multiple choice quiz. This gives you a Flyer ID. This is free and lasts 5 years. You can do both through FPV UK.

@@simondale9641 thanks for the Info, I have just got an Avata 2 and can't wait to get started, sorted my Operator ID and Flyer ID, but looks as though I also need an A2 CofC to fly locally.
@simondale96416 ай бұрын
You can fly under the FPV UK Article 16 Operational Authorisation. No need for an A2 CofC. Also, FPV UK members get 50% discount on A2 CofCs, if you really want one.
