First time seeing your videos. (I liked and subscribed). Thank you for honestly pointing out the good and the not so good things you discovered. I'd already ordered my Avata 2 prior to seeing your video and you helped put my mind at ease with your candor. I've been flying the Mini 3 Pro for 2 years now and am so looking forward to my first FPV. Living on the waters edge of Vancouver Island, I love flying up and down the shore filming the waves as they come in. I'm really looking forward to feeling like I'm right there where the action is with the FPV.

Hi Andrea, Avata 2 has C1 class and 19 m/s velocity limitation. 19:31 Did you use FCC mod to achieve high speed or it was just a wind? You mentioned less power - looks like DJI limited speed by the power output and outside EU should be much better.

I am so impressed when it comes to steep diving with the Avata 2 over the Avata 1 it flies down so much more smoothly and a lot better. The Avata 1 will struggle shack and generally freak out when you do the same. They actually made it better in Normal and Sports Mode to use the motion lotion controller over the Controller 2 & 3.
@Rimzler8 ай бұрын
That is very true, it's a lot more stable!
@TheRealFoonusАй бұрын
The reason they include the motion controller is it costs 1/3 the price of the fpv controller. It's the cheapest thing they can put in the box. It also means you will be spending at least another $300 in the near future you wouldn't have if they included it to begin with.
@RimzlerАй бұрын
Yes, but the price from the factory mass production will be 2$ for the motion controller and 4$ for the FPV one, so not including a kit with it it's greedy They could also maybe sell it at 20$ premium for that kit and call it a day

As a retired aircraft pilot, that has used a side stick for thousands of hours, the motion controller is fantastic. Learning curve for new people to drone flying is the main reason I think it's included. The skills the presenter demonstrates at high speeds with the 'standard' controller were exceptional. He must have years of experience to fly like he did. Very small Percentages of users therefore need the 'precision' he demonstrates, I simply don't want to take those risks, and find the hand controller perfect for the kind of safe flying I can enjoy.

So many fpv pilots really liked the motion controller... or said so atleast. Refreshing to hear its gimmicky maybe not for beginners but for practiced pilots I dont think theyll seriously use the motion controller..
@Rimzler8 ай бұрын
I have tried all the motion controllers so far and it's the same as the old ones basically, it's fun to use for a while but it's not better in any way compared to the real radio and you eventually grow tired of it It maybe made sense with the original DJI FPV, that could fly super fast up in the air and not worry about obstacles so much, but for a cinewhoop that flies low it's not precise enough Even for beginners the real radio is better imho, better control, better safety, they are going to be able to fly much closer to obstacles and through them, also it has a big progression to be made, up to flying acro, and the ability translates to and from any other drone on
@BlueDroneBlues8 ай бұрын
Actually when you do dives now in the N&S Modes the dives are much cleaner than using these modes with the Controller 3. You can get different views and angles with the combo of motion controller and head tracking. Where the controller 3 just cannot at this time. Controller 3 truly shines because of manual mode which is the real reason we all buy the Controller 2 and 3 to begin with. The Avata 1 absolutely sucked in these deep dive shots because it would freak out and shack and bounce around. The Avata 2 doesn’t have these issues. Going between the Motion Controller and Controller 3 gives us a nice advantage for some sweet shots or just kick back fly and have fun 🤩
@Rimzler8 ай бұрын
Yeah good point, at least in descending the motion controller makes stuff easier, it takes quite a bit of experience to do the same on the regular remote! True also that the old avatar had more shake!

It's not gimmicky I csn 100% get shots with the motion controller that he can't get in manual mode or with any other fpv drone.

Yea I don't think it's really a fair comparison to compare something you spend 100s hours on to something you spend 5 minutes on. He also basically hasn't even tried head tracking combined with flying in a different direction, which is one of the things those others did and liked. He had his opinion before using it and didn't give it a chance. It might still be bad, but this review simply doesn't review it really. Would be interesting to put a complete beginner to use the motion controller and the normal remote, both for 5 minutes and see which flight looks smoother and safer.

Honestly, I'm a fan of the easy acro mode. It's not just a gimmick for sales. For us FPV beginners, pulling off cool aerial tricks isn't a walk in the park, and this mode helps without making things too complicated. And can't deny it, this will indeed spice up my flying experience.
@Rimzler8 ай бұрын
I totally believe is a cool experience! And it's true that doing it in manual takes skill, and it's better to have a easy mode rather than not of course! I say useless regarding to video recording purposes, as you will have to learn real manual to integrate acro smoothly into videos And still I believe that they could integrate it into the classic radio and teach people gradually how to do acro, so one can have more confidence and learn something useful, ability that translates to any other drone
@ztfilms50478 ай бұрын

Do u think I should get the avata2 or cinebot25 S or DarkStar20? Or any better choice for beginner? 2. Is the Integra Goggles still a good choice for now? @edgararcega30468 ай бұрын
Does it get tossed around by the wind a lot easier than the avata 1 because it's lighter weight? Also, if you implement the joystick with the motion control you can perform some really good shots. Most just use the trigger and motion sensor in the controller but forget to utilize the joy stick for the best experience and performance
@judelouieabrigo41848 ай бұрын
yes I also find other reviewers and on the forums not utilizing the joystick just toe motion controller, I'll play around with it once mine got delivered next week, hopefully googles 3 and motion control 3 becomes available in DJI fly sim so I don't mess around with the drone in real life and risk crashing it.

Good honest review. Personally, I think the new goggles are way more comfortable than all my other "traditional FPV goggles. It probably has a lot to do with face/head shape, but I feel like they're way more "locked on" than traditional gogs, and the FOV is at the limit of what I can get in frame. You do know you can tighten them with the dial on the back, right? Other than that, I think you nailed it.
@Rimzler8 ай бұрын
They are comfier than stock goggle 2, but not aftermarket for me, yeah I tightened to the point of hurting, but it has a smaller contact area compared to the old anyway, and in some situations they will shake, but that's a niche use! Like now I am shooting a car parade and will need to fly from inside another car, that's a concern! For sure I like innovation, but I see too many obvious improvements, like make them swivel all the way up, and add a couple mounting points for aftermarket parts They should give people the choice to personalize their fit, and maybe they can even sell all the different inexpensive attachments and sell for a premium, I wouldn't criticize that much then

I'm totally green with drones stuff so I have a question. Do they make a graphene battery already for this drone or lithium-ion only? 23min flight time? is pretty much standard I guess? Nothing fancy when you keep in mind half of that time required for return to starting position then it's even worst.
@Rimzler5 ай бұрын
So far we have 2 major battery chemistries (99.9%) for drones: The most common is the Lithium polymer LiPo, it's the sack shaped ones that are less energy dense but can deliver a ton of amps of discharge at once, used in FPV and most drones like avata 1/2 mavics etc There are some small variations some including a bit of graphene as conductor layer but it's mostly marketing gimmicks and don't make a perceivable difference The other is lithium ion Li ion cells shaped like regular batteries with metal casing, for more efficient applications, they are more energy dense and can be discharged to a lower voltage, but can deliver a lot less amps at once, so if you push the throttle they don't deliver They are found in the Mavic mini 1, DJI FPV I believe and some long range FPV drones, also electric vehicles bikes scooters and skates In FPV 23 minutes is a lot, most regular FPV drones fly 4/5/6 minutes We are all waiting for a battery tech breakthrough that allows more energy to be stored in less space and weight!

I just got the Avata 2 last week, it's my first real drone other than basically a toy drone I bought on Temu for like $25. I'm loving my experience with the Avata 2. To me the motion controller makes flying very intuitive since it basically replicates an add-on flight stick for a lot of consoles like PS5 or Xbox. While I intend to eventually buy the separate flight controller, I'm in no hurry to get it. The Avata 2 is very easy for a complete beginner to use and then as your skills increase you can eventually get the separate sticks flight controller and use the manual flight mode. This drone might not be the right one for everybody but it was the exact right one for me since I am having so much fun with it! Just my 2 cents.

One the auto function on the Motion Controller the only ones I think are really good to have is the side to side and the 180 because they are great for helping you with good shots where the Motion Controller would normally fail in. The rolls are all gimmicks and for show. They don’t have any real purpose where the 180 and side shots do. You can use head tracking and focus on an object and use the slide function that will actually give you a nice orbit around your subject. Pretty cool stuff. 😊

Appreciate your candor. As someone looking for their 1st drone though, the controller 3 you complain about so much is actually part of what attracted me to it. The dual stick controllers are intimidating to someone who has never used them and IMO I would probably crash a drone more frequently with the sticks while getting up.to speed with the learning curve than with the controller 3. Pretty sure that's why they made it - to get newbies into the game. Sure I'll get the stick controller at some point but to be able to fly out of the box by someone who has never used a drone before I think it is more intuitive and will draw a lot larger beginner base. Why are the ground and positioning sensors only on the back though? I imagine 99% of crashes are from froward motion...so why no front sensors or object avoidance?
@Rimzler5 ай бұрын
Sticks may look daunting at first but on a drone like the avata, that hovers super precise and gives you all the time to think, I think that only takes maybe an extra hour to get the hang of with no real risk of crashing in an open field, and that's a skill that translates to all the other drones out there They didn't even implement the back collision avoidance yet, so it doesn't have obstacle avoidance... That's because of price, that's why I hope they make a pro version with more features
@NBSTL685 ай бұрын
@Rimzler Thanks for the reply! NO collision avoidance at all? Maybe I should buy a mini4Pro + the googles3 instead? MP4 has 360 collision avoidance and will qirkmw thr Goggles 3 I believe, right? Even though this is not a traditional FPV drone that you can freestyle with, would you say it can be a good beginner drone to do light freestyle and still experience the fun of FPV? I’m not into cinematic, I just like flight and the thrill. I don’t want to have to buy a bunch of batteries, controllers, use beta flight, etc. Can I still have fun and get a rush from this drone? Would you recommend it for someone like me who just wants to get out and fly?

The speed is limited in Europe, due to the C1 class. But is flying very smooth. I just bought few days ago and I agree with your review.

Bro. Cheers from California! Didn't know how much more control you get with the regular controller. I like the want thingy but now I'm tempted to try the real co troller. Alos.. bought the single battery one.... wondering if I should have bought the fly more with 3 batteries
@Rimzler8 ай бұрын
With the regular controller is a path, you have to gain experience in normal and sport, probably you will be proficient in a week, then you need to practice manual on a simulator for a little bit 1/2/3 weeks, once you are proficient in the sim try the real thing and boom in a couple months you are a manual pilot and believe me is a blast!

Random question but here it is anyway. I have the Cinebot 25, which is bound to my Goggles 2 and Radiomaster Boxer. Now I want to sell my Cinebot 25 to a friend because I bought another drone. How do I unbind the goggles and the controller from the o3 air unit in my Cinebot25? Everytime I start my gear and the Cinebot 25 is nearby it automatically connects to it.

Because DJI changes what works and what's customizable like that, and they decide that this is what the new generation offers, I have to use them everyday and the old ones were more convenient I wish they allowed different mounting options so people could choose

@@len9483 yes it's not like vr goggles, it's like looking at the monitor, but the picture is perfect. I never flew fpv before, but uploaded my first flight yesterday on my channel. Have a look. I was flying with motion controller and wasn't expecting it to be that easy. If you planning to buy one you won't be disappointed.
@ShaneInseine8 ай бұрын
EXACTLY! The motion controller is funny for a while and I get it, but it doesn't compare to the real controller. I had to wait a week to get the real controller and once I got it, I will never use the other one again. But I might let other people play with the other one. But the oddest thing is that Acro with the Controller 3 is really crazy easy... maybe I just got really good with Acro over the winter but holy cow, it worked really well for me. And I LOVE the Goggles, so that's a personal thing that each individual will have to decide.
@Rimzler8 ай бұрын
Yes I think they should focus on teaching people gradually to use the radio and transition into manual! It would be an incredible experience sold that way! And the ability will translate to all the other drones! Yeah goggle fit is subjective, but adding a couple mounting points for regular straps and let people decide even better, stuff is not cheap

@SickocrowAU8 ай бұрын
@Rimzler if we're honest the head tracking doesn't really work properly with this machine because of the 1 axis nature of the gimbal. I found the limits of it's ability very quickly. If you're just hovering around it's fine, but soon as you push it the tracking comes unstuck.

The motion control review seems like its just because youre not used to it, youve been using the sticks for a while so thats what feels natural to you. the motion control can easilly allow you to get some great shots and track targets while also doing some precise flying .... when youve practiced. The remote is gonna give you much more control but also disables a bunch of decent features which are good for cinematic flying. if you need casual flights where film is the priority , use the motion control if yo uwant the regular fpv style, use the fpv remote
