DJI Avata in 2024 !? - Still Worth it ?

I love my Avata, and was a great drone to learn on. I am looking to upgrade so that I can carry a better camera. So there’s the Axis 3.5” prop and motor upgrade which is cheap enough at $60, but when I can just buy a Cinelog 35 V2 with O2 Air unit for $550 Cdn and sell my Avata drone only (I am sure there many crashed avatars out there needing replacement) . I would then get the weight down to 285 grams from 400 Grams and be able to support the weight of an external camera. The Avata Frame upgrade would also void my DJI care. I already have 3 drones, question is keep the Avata as a backup, not sure what to do. What in your mind is the optimal setup for professional drone pilot to do aerial photography, love to hear what your optimal setup would e if you had to do it all over again?

The issue is it’s an underpowered cinewhoop. When flown like 5 inch free style quad in wind it flips. Cinewhoops are very susceptible to wind due to prop guards. 90% of time avata should be 20 feet off ground or less and no wind.

Exactly, the drone isn't really made for this kind of flights, but let's hope the next generation of Avatas will be a bit more strong to be used as a hybrid between this one and the DJI FPV

I've flown the dji fpv for couple years, this would be nice to learn manual on, it's alittle more durable. But as far as flying fast and having fun 100mph the fpv has it....

Yup ! The FPV is just much stronger ! That's why on my future adventures I will take DJI FPV over the Avata again 😄

A mam pytanie. Jaka jest najwieksza roznica pomiedzy DJI Avata i DJI FPV, jaka Ty dostrzegles? Ktorego bardziej oplaca sie kupic?

Mam o tym materiał na kanale 😄 (Dość niedawno dodany) W skrócie : DJI FPV - cięższy i mniej wygodny do noszenia, ale to też jego plus (jak jest wiatr) no i jest mocniejszy. DJI Avata - lekki, wygodny do przenoszenia i rozkładania, ale przez wagę i budowę, nie nadaje się na wiatry, Więc głównie zależy od tego, do czego się będzie używać. A no i na FPV używam GoPro, jako kamerkę do nagrywania, a avata ma dobrą już tą wbudowaną 😄

what lut did you use for the d-log footage

The DJI Avata records in D-Cinelike, and I do not use luts, I color grade all of my footage from raw to the final edit. I am planning to make luts for quick edits to get them as natural as possible very quickly.

Still happens, but there is a "fail safe" now where it will stop and hover (essentially go into "normal") when it detects the flip. But I did have it drop out of the sky by itself once without any harsh cuts or turns so... Yeah 😅

It is very easy to fly in N normal flight mode and also easy. to fly in S sport flight mode . Just go easy and go practice outside with the satelliteshook up and the Home point recorded. No need to go far and high. Just practice hovering and slow figure 8 . All can be done a 3 meters high. Again follow the DJI safety and do not rush. Good luck. It is a good quad. I have over 200 flights on mine and she flies like new. 2 years old . Be careful. @@devonjohnson8693
