My ears just popped up! I might be in the wrong; I just figured out all those Drones sittings around the NY, NJ, PA and DC area. Now that the NDA 2025 is out and no "DJI Ban" is mentioned in such Act. However such Act does authorize the FAA to banned them is they find a threat to National Security. I leave it to you all to add up two plus two. Hopefully, I'm just worrying too much!

You left out the part that says if an agency doesn't make a determination in one year, they will automatically be added to the FCC's covered entity list.

I agree. This is a very important note, and you missed it.

Yes, very important! I mentioned that too in my comment.

I mean, if they're going to blow off concerns about the Jersey drones, seems silly to worry about DJI consumer products.

I think the whole NJ, Oregon and everywhere else thing that has recently started with people look up into the sky at night for the first time thinking everything they see is a drone at 28,000 Feet is a DJI drone (to far/too small) is crazy. I think the government is letting go out of control just to get what they want…. No DJI sales in U.S. what about a competitive market? What I have seen in the sky is the same I’ve always seen.

After the tariffs, DJI probably will skyrocket 2x in prices.

I ordered a Air 3S last week and the drone is still stuck at the customs for 5 days now. No idea if I will ever see it.

You will but 5 days isn't very long

A question for experienced drone pilots; What do you think the drones are that we’ve recently seen flying over eastern states? I’m looking to buy my first drone for personal/photography use, so my knowledge is limited. One of my first thoughts when I started seeing the mystery drone reports was; why hasn’t any civilian drone pilot chased a couple of these things down with their own drone and secured close up video footage of what these things are. My opinion of the current drone ban status; I’m happy to see that legislators are working this out in a way that won’t impact drone pilot’s ability to make a living. I do want to add a personal perspective that doesn’t apply to drones - specifically. Our family business was party to a lawsuit against a Chinese company, that company was shot through with C C P officials. We were one of five companies that sued that company, winning a 165 million dollar judgment. Our case was appealed all the way to the United States Supreme Court, where we won a 9-0 decision. The moral of the story; never, ever underestimate who we’re dealing with.

Thanks for sharing your experience! With the mystery drones flying over, it could be difficult to chase them down with another drone as it seems most of the time they're flying when it's pretty dark out and depending how fast they are, most consumer drones wouldn't be able to keep up as quickly.

@ Thank you.

It also seems that some helicopters have tried to chase them and once they got close, the mystery drones would shut off their lights, increase their speed, and disappear.

I have watched a countless number of these reported videos, screenshotted, zoomed in, the best I can, and my analysis is that based on positioning of the anti collision and landing lights (as well as some very clearly videos where they fly in from of the moon 99% of these are aircraft or helicopters. I think this took off on social media and the media and the rest of the public took it and ran with it. I don’t think people were paying attention to what was flying around in the night sky before this, and they are just now taking notice and saying “hey these things weren’t there before” when in fact they were. IMHO, if they were nefarious or “trying to get away with something” they wouldn’t have any anti-collision lights on. In fact I know of several questionable drone pilots that have taped the lights over on their drones to film events they weren’t supposed to film, etc.

Why don’t the manufacturers of drones require proof of competency prior to sales.

With all the crap happening in New Jersey and that Asian guy in California. I wouldn't be surprised if they come back with a ban.
@jakelipsiner90173 күн бұрын
Would the ban include all drones being used currently or just new models? I guess for right now we can continue to fly. Next year could change for sure. Trumps tariffs will make dji products sky rocket. That's for sure.
