Dang, part of me is just drooling for the DJI Mavic 3 Classic. I do have the Air 2s and love it. Just thinking about doing monthly payments with Best Buy. Another part is jus wanting to wait for the DJI Mini 4 (Pro) and see what that can do vs. the Mini 3 Pro. Sometimes in life you just want it all, but can't!

Great to see. I've been using my Mavic 2 Pro for my real estate photography/Videography business for the last 3 years and it has taken a beating to get those special shots. I've ran it into power lines melting half way through the front leg, tree limbs, bushes, and it still flies perfectly with only having to replace 2 propellers. This is legitimately a solid option, the Mavic 3 Cine felt disappointing because it was such overkill for what I do to justify the cost, but this is basically my Mavic 2 Pro vastly upgraded and around the same price when M2P first came out - amazing really. Looks really good. As many have said; this is the one they should have come out with first. In the comparo of the M3p, A2s, and M3c the clarity of the M3c is noticeably clearer and more detailed. The new Classic ain't cheap but it is in the realm of affordability for those who can use and appreciate its quality and photo/video ability along with its now famous flight characteristics. The Fly more kit is a bit steep in price ($649) but an extra battery at $209 puts the total cost with DJI RC under $2k for over an hour's worth of real world flight time. I'd say this is a good investment for those who want great quality footage and/or will use this for work to make money. Customers will appreciate that level of quality and the pilot will appreciate the ease of use and final product.

Just bought a used M3 with two batteries for $1600 so I'm not mad. I've seen some incredible shots with the telephoto lens and that compression you can't get with the main lens.

I love that you captured the October 27, 2022 SpaceX Starlink Launch out of Vandenberg, CA (I am guessing by accident). It is in your low light test at 07:43 in the low light portion of your test. Actually easier to see the actual rocket flume with the Mini 3 Pro contrast. Just look above and to the left of the squiggly contrail and you will see the glow. Great video. I'll keep my Phantom 4 Pro and Air2S a bit longer. I would really have to see some A/B graded comparisons to see if the Classic really give me much more than the Air2S.

@@FlytPath Crazy is that I was in Laguna Beach eating a burrito in my Tesla, looked up saw the squiggly vapor trail to the north and thought, "Heck", I missed it, only to see the orange rocket plume above me through the Tesla glass roof. Simultaneously, you're a bit south of me concentrating on your flight while capturing it too. Again, nice comparison. Then again, I am a weirdo holding out for a Phantom 5, but with folding legs...which I know is the Mavic 3 Enterprise, but still. The Phantom name should go on.

You talked multiple times about the mavic 3 classic being the natural successor to the mavic 2 pro, but you did zero camera comparisons between the two. I’m a mavic 2 pro owner and would have loved to have seen some comparisons in features and video quality between m2p and the m3c. Also would love to see how the obstacle avoidance compares, that’s surely where you see bigger jumps more interesting differences, than incremental ones from air and mini. Those bigger jumps are more obvious and appreciated by us viewers!

Excellent video! M3C is perfect for those that want the M4 when it comes out without having to spend more money on the original M3 today. It’s brilliant marketing really. I just bought the M3C and will definitely buy the M4 when it releases. I have been flying DJI since the Phantom 2 and have seen the amazing technical advances first hand. This thing is amazing for the money. I was pretty sure they were going to release a M3 Pro but they released the classic instead. I do think the lack of telephoto is a concession but 3x is fine for most use cases and that’s why the M3C is really a smart release.

I can see good application for the that long range digital zoom. One is for news agencies to get footage they couldn't otherwise get by being closer to the subject. This allows the drone to be out of sight but still get okay photos and video. Not great but still usable. It is an impressive zoom lens for how small it is.

Great info! I had the Mavic Pro when it first came out and waited to get the Mavic 3 but the price was ridiculous! So instead I bought the Air 2s with the RC Pro controller and I'm very happy with it. No need for the class but I do want to step up the the M3c the video/picture quality is awesome!

I love mine and don't regret the price of it at around 2800 when I purchased it back in the last few days of April. I have no interest in the tele camera for now, until the quality gets better on the next generations. Went from a mavic 2 pro to a mavic 3 classic. The bigger sensor is a huge improvement, especially for night filming (part 107)

One interesting note for EU pilots like myself. The Mavic Classic is first to have EU class identification label of C1. That means you can fly in the “open” subcategory of A1. The least restrictive flight envelope. Legacy drones such as Air2S are restricted to A3 which limits you to flying out in the middle of nowhere.

As a professional I'm not sure where this drone fits in ! I don't need 5k Video and from looking at the samples its hard to tell any difference in the quality over mini 3 pro. Unless you have the A2 c of c then this New Drone isn't going to be any good. I still think as it stands the mini 3 pro is the Drone to own. it just does everything and more.

Glad I found this and you were the one that told the story. I love the Non-Fixed Aperture, more avoidance sensors(than Air2S) and the thing called 'Cruise Control'. That last one is an easy fix across their line up in that it is software driven. As for a feature I miss, unless it's still there and I can't find it, it's where I can hit RTH and have the option to pivot the drone on its axis. It's like a camera on rails but in the sky.

I’m totally happy with both drones and for flying in more wind this new Mavic 3 Classic is a huge upgrade for me also the camera is fantastic and important here in the EU the Mavic 3 Classic has the CX / C1 label for the EU so I can fly it in all places that I can fly with my Mini 3 Pro. I made a first testvideo and uploaded it to my YT channel a few days ago filmed in Auto Settings 4K. I will do more testing of all the great functions soon. When are we going to be able to use Point of Interest at 60fps? It's crazy that we are getting up to 4k 120fps but apparently 60fps with POI or Active Track is "too much" for the hardware to handle. POI has been a thing for years now and to be able to use it a 60fps would make it a lot easier to create dynamic shots that otherwise would be very difficult to do manually.

@FlyPath -- I have a question that I don't think anyone on KZbin has answered and you seem like just the guy to do it since you seem to have all the DJI drones AND you live in the USA. Did your DJI Classic, sold in the USA come with the C1 label that allows you to fly it if you were to travel with it to Europe in the A1/A3 category? I ask because I'm an American living abroad and am thinking about buying a Classic while in the USA next summer because frankly the prices are bettter but I need that C1 label to avoid having to get additional certifications. Thanks for the nice video. To my eyes the Mavic three is capturing more detail BUT it feels over sharpened. There is something a little more "video" like and maybe a bit less cinematic to it's footage. I am wondering if there was any post production sharpening on these tests or if they are straight out of camera???

Wonder if you could help me out. I just did my first flight with my new Mavic 3 Classic. Was doing video in D-log H.265 24 fps and SS of 1/50. I could not use any ISO below 400. I've seen numerous videos of people using ISO 100 with this set up. Any idea what might be the cause of this? Thanks.

Also with the standard controller is there a 5D button or something comparable to control exposure while videoing as this is of great benefit in video captions where the lighting is variable?

Can I bring the MP2 remote and use it on this drone because I have hated the modern remotes that they include. I tend to do a lot of flying. They put me into positions where I want all the data on the remote verses on my screen.

Hello! Could you answer, does DJI solved those issues in M3 Classic? 1) Longtime satellites search, upto 2 min each flight, and GLONASS not used again 2) Raw (DNG) photos have black corners as used lens dont cover full sensor area 3) Flickering while hyperlapse, even in full manual settings (WB, shutter etc.)

Fyi they are are called 1 inch sensors but actually are not, being smaller in fact. Apparently its a hangover term from the old tube TV days…an easy Google…😊
