For me as a commercial drone pilot drones fall into one or two categories either sub 249 g or above and if it’s above I will always fly the inspire with the X7 camera the Mavic3 still will not cut when it comes to the X7 and the ability with the second camera operator to fly the camera at a different angle to the flight path of the pilot

Just incredible low light capability of the DJI Mavic 3. It performs really good. I’m doing my A2 CofC exam soon, I’m inching ever closer to justifying the cost to buy this drone. Also I think the Mini 2 in comparison in low light does admirably considering it’s sensor is smaller.

Darren - something weird occurred with my Mavic 3 - 1st flight - I noticed that only 4K was available - when back on Terra firma - I plugged in the drone to my pc and used the new DJI assistant 2 for consumer drones and refreshed both the aircraft and controller and it appears to have sorted it with all available modes (at the moment) but I haven’t flown it to check everything yet - also it dropped into atti during a flight today - didn’t cause me any sweat - however have you noticed owt yourself ?

Incredible shoots Darren. Few days ago I watched a video where the guy told it's not good to shoot D-LOG at night because, according to him, it rises the noise levels. But I'm not good with color coorrection/grading (I do a little but really I don't master this and not happy when I try to push it too much. I always get in a dead end while trying to balance contrast/exposure and color vibrance while trying to color grade/correct). Thank you and your videos are incredible. Just bought m3 myself and have you noticed when you use yaw while flying forward, the drone will also bank to left or right. It is still strange and I can't get used to it. And of course great video and awesome shots.

Darren, this footage is super exciting! Looks incredible. As you pointed out, the blacks are so dark and deep and the lights have minuscule noise. And I was just watching this on my IPhone 12 Pro via compressed KZbin. So impressive man! These Mavic 3 night shots look like you are just looking out of a plane or something at nighttime! You know what I mean? Fantastic Darren! 😃 I know I keep telling you that you keep on making me want the Mavic 3 even more with each video you put out, but this one really put my interests over the top. I’ve been considering saving up for the Air 2s because I know how capable of a drone it is, but I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to not think about the Mavic 3 anymore! Haha, good and bad news for me. 😆 The 3 is more than double the price of the air 2s (for Fly more combos) so that means it’ll take far longer to realistically get my hands on this drone. Amazing night time shots from both locations and the comparisons with the Mini 2 certainly demonstrate why the M3 has taken a hike in price. You get what you pay for! As a newbie to drones, I'm trying to improve my knowledge, can I check what measures you take when flying the M3 in Blackpool for example to ensure you have the correct separations required under your A2 CofC, is it more hassle to operate there than the Mini 2, in terms of where you can fly and take off / land?

Yes the m3 is certainly very good in the air with the new camera for both daylight and night. Its always good habit to check Nfz's before you go to the area, check for restrictions zones etc and have the numbers ready, I like to call atc as a matter of courtesy even if not a cfz or nfz

I really like the footage from the MFT cam on this drone. DJI really did nail this. I think it's a combination of the Hasselblad science and the MFT (Micro Four Thirds) quality. I really think camera drone sensor size for the prosumer class has hit a ceiling. There's really no need to go larger plus the tech for these sensors keep getting better. I have an older MFT Lumix GX85 handheld camera that gets really great photos and video. MFT has been around since 2008 so it's not new and it has had time to mature and be further developed. MFT is the future for camera drones and some say it's also the future for smart phone cameras as well. I'm inclined to believe them. Another good and informative video Darren!

There is always a desire to go bigger and better as tech improves, thats just progress and the future, i think it is great that we have a MFT sensor, but really, im sure DJI are already contemplating how to increase the sensor size in a future mavic, im sure they could easily incorporate an APS-C sensor if they dumped the tele lens and tweaked the gimbal and housing a bit, but thats a few years down the line, technology waits for no man, having said that, damn they have nailed it as you also said :-)

Depends what you consider better? I mean just look at full frame cameras compared to 1” or APSC for example, the devil is in the details springs to mind, for most people though this will be WAY more then enough, and won’t make use of all its power, but give the right tools to the right people and they can make a masterpiece, so there will always be room for improvements somewhere, be it better and bigger sensors, more insane dynamic range, even better low light performance, better signal to noise ratios and so on, but I do get what you are saying though, we are at a point where most of our technology has reached its peak and it’s more about refinements until the next technological breakthrough happens.

They normally refresh the air line around April / may so it’s good for a while and it will only be small upgrades I’m sure

Man that looked good at night well done Darren going to order mine tonight I was thinking of the fly more but now I'm think maybe get the standard then get the new remote control but still in 2 minds as the new controller won't work with the mini 2 or air 2 so a bit disappointed with that I would love to know if they will incorporate it later bit getting no signs of it yet. Still looks.like your having fun and like you said before the M3 is going to last a few years so definitely worth getting we only live once lol 😁👍👌🇬🇧

Yes either the standard or fly more is the way to go. I haven’t kept up with latest news been busy, so the new RC PRO doesn’t work with the mini 2? That’s a shame. Controller does look nice tho ! Very impressed with the night shots - thanks for watching

Hi Darren. Loving your content. I’m a photographer who fell out of love with the whole drone thing when the restrictions came in. However, the Mavic 3 has such impressive IQ, that I’m now considering doing the A2 COfC & re-engaging with drones. Do you think it likely the Mavic 3 will retrospectively be awarded C2? It’s a chunk of cash to splash if we’re only allowed to use it within the qualification until June ‘22?

Have any of you run into this problem, on my first flight with my M3C I get a warning “vision sensors blurry vision system unavailable clean sensors” I talked to DJI technicians online they told me to update my firmware that has not fix the issue. Any ideas and yes I clean the sensors

Please define what you mean by "pro mode". I have the Mavic 3 and I don't see any such setting label.

Click auto in the bottom corner which opens up pro settings mode

As Blackpool Tower stands at 518 ft, but the legal flying height for a drone is only 400ft, what permissions did you obtain to get around the rules to obtain these magnificent shots?
