Thank you for this, just got a Mavic Air 2 for Christmas and I crashed it into a tree while in follow me mode It got fought in a tree ,I rented a chainsaw,cut the tree down ,got the drone back but it broke the gimbal. Just ordered new gimble ,mat head set and toolkit. I’ll be repairing mine when the parts come .it still flys every thing else works. Subscribed,liked and greatly appreciated.

@@Traveltech360 They want $269.99 on Amazon so I decided to just buy another drone apparently you will have to go through a extensive process to make the new one work downloading software writing programs ect so I'll have two drones one to fly and one for video and pictures. I'll just get the drone I have the fly more hopefully I can get the new one with the smart controller.

Hello! I crashed my Mavic Air 2 and the gimbal arm snapped. The camera still works fine, just the arm of the gimbal is broken, is there any way to just replace the gimbal and save the camera or are they a set unit? The whole camera gimbal replacement seems quite expensive online. Thank you so so much!

Because the Drone is still new you must buy the complete camera and gimbal. World Drone Community is in the process of manufacturing 3rd party Drone parts and this is a part that's going to be in production. A wonderful, step-by-step process for removing the gimble. The info on the tools was very helpful. I have the replacement gimble and camera and am ready to proceed. What happened to the second part?

@@Traveltech360 I've seen a procedure to initialize the gimbal, but haven't seen anything yet to pair the camera. Did you manage? Could you share? I got a replacement gimbal/camera and would prefer replacing entirely, not only the gimbal.

Hello friend Could you by any chance help me? Here in Brazil it is not easy to get electrical diagrams for drones, I have an air 2s that does not work the YAW axis. I checked the supply voltage and 10.4v voltage is being supplied. Do you know if this tension is normal? Would you recommend me checking something? Yes I took care of it. The software was a major issue pain. It's really better to let a shop do the software it's very complicated process and should only been done buy some shop. It's having the correct versions that is the pain. I have some to help with it if you need it let me know.

@@Traveltech360 I appreciate the offer but to be frank, your response settled the issue for me. We have two MA2 since the first one crashed. I was weighing whether or not to buy the new gimbal (1/3 total cost), replace it myself and have 2 functional drones, however with the price point and pita factor, it seems another drone altogether is a better investment. Keep on rocking!

Hey there, so I got my Air 2s stuck in a tree. The gimbal will calibrate just fine, but frequently once its in the air I'll get a "gimbal overload" error and the gimbal will start to shake when I go side to side. Do you think I need to replace the gimbal or could it be a simple fix? Thanks in advanced

I tried to use this process on my DJI air 2s to remove the gimbal from the body. The gimbal data cable came out easily from the mother board just as seen in the video, but the video cable does not. seem like the plug and socket of the video cable are different. At least in my drone there was no space to place the pry tool under to release the cable. Please be very careful when trying to get the video cable disconnected, you may end up ripping the socket from the motherboard. Just a heads up from my experience.

No they come together the manufacture will not sell the gimbal parts within the first 2 years they lose to much money. Let me know what country your in and I can show you where to get the best price for the camera and the gimbal.

Yes you need to pop the gimble black frame back into position. There's a black frame behind the gimble that's screwed in the drone that holds your gimble its popped out of position. I prefer to remove the screws from around the gimble and you can pop it back into position then put the screws back don't remove the gimble just the screws and then slowly move the frame you will feel it pop back into position. That will fix it. Is the camera shacking a lot when flying? Do you see the camera shaking in the video? A lot of DJI Drones have this.

@@Traveltech360 thanks for the reply. The camera doesn’t seem too shaky. It just says “gimbal stuck, error 40002”. Doesn’t calibrate or level itself. Gets stuck in an offset, sideways position. Can’t pan or scroll up and down. So if I wanna take it off, I’ll need to take off those small philipps screws and I think t5 screws; right?

@@PTS328 yes this is more of a space issue its so tight around the gimble. When you get the frame in he correct position it will resolve your problem.
