File Index Mode controls file naming conventions. Under Continuous mode, files are saved according to date, then sequence, eg: 062618 1, 062618 2, etc. Reset mode will start anew with each photo/video, potentially overwriting previous files. Great videos, my man. This is probably the best layman's explanation of camera settings for the DJI Mavic Air on YT so far. Thank you!

Hello! I just found your channel and love what I see so far! I was just given a DJI Mavic Air Red from a friend and have flown it a couple times. I want to learn more about it and heard that you have some videos on that model. I looked through your offerings and can't seem to find any. Great video, thanks! Not sure if this has been answered for you yet but file index mode keeps the count of the pic/vid in memory and indexes it up 1 every time you take a shot regardless if you’ve taken all of the previous shots off of the SD card or not. If you don’t have it set to continuous it will go back to 001 or whatever if you insert a new SD card or pull the data off of an existing one and reinsert it.

When your on the EXP screen actually move the joystick and you will see how making the changes impacts the joystick.. the dot will move and follow the line and you will see / feel how much movement you have to do in order for dot to start moving.. super handy to see it while you test the movements.. also helps you see which of the 3 is adjusting what for sure..

I feel these kinda videos are more of a personal preference for the most part....we all have our personal preferences on how images look.

File index mode is to do with file numbering when you format. So continuous for example would be file 1,2,3,4,5 - format your card, next use file 6,7,8 etc. Reset on format starts at 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc again. This is important when you save to the same folder every time you download as if you're not on coninuous you can overwrite old files.
